Two Bones and an Ear
“This is what the LORD says: "As a shepherd rescues from the lion's mouth only two leg bones or a piece of an ear, so will the Israelites living in Samaria be rescued, with only the head of a bed and a piece of fabric from a couch.” Amos 3:12
1. Lesson of a ruthless lion
Sin is devils territory.
We can’t blame God for what happens once we are on Satan’s territory!
Not everything is result of God’s perfect will but of God’s permissible will.
“The devil is like a mad dog that is chained up. He is powerless to harm us when we are outside his reach, but once we enter his circle we expose ourselves again to injury or harm.” Augustine
2. Lesson of relentless shepherd
“The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God." C. S. Lewis
The ant story
Good shepherd is not someone who has good sheep but someone who gives His life for bad sheep!

In my hands a golf club is a sure shank, but in Tiger Woods’ hands a golf club is fourteen major championships. In my hands a paintbrush is a doodle brush but in the hands of Michelangelo it is the Sistine Chapel. In my hands a basketball is a brick but in the hands of Michael Jordan it is six NBA championships. In my hands a scalpel is just a way to cut my fingers off, but in the hands of Dr. Ben Carson it is a Hemispherectomy. In my hands two leg bones and a piece of an ear are worthless, but in God’s hands they are the building blocks of a new life.
4. Lesson of responsibility with little we have left
God will create what you need by using what you have. He will use the dirt. He will use the bone. He will use the seed. He will use oil. He will use the five loaves.
Story of Nick - Dad fainted. 4 months did not hold him. 10 he tried to drown himself. “There is no point in being compete on the outside if you are broke on the inside” At the age 15 he gave his life to Jesus. “Why you made me like that?” “Do you trust me?” At 21 finished BA. 200k - 6-7 years. 60 countries. 3 million people. Speaks for TED, wrote books, produced films.
What you have left is more than what you have lost. (Moses lost 80 years; Samuel lost first king)
