12 Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me, 13 I still had no peace of mind, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said good-by to them and went on to Macedonia.

Open doors do not always = Peace

• If I am wondering a open door always helps
• Open doors should = Peace
• Why not here?  I don’t know (mystery)

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.

• Thanks to God who...
• Always – not most of the time...
• Leads me – leads me where...
• Triumphal procession – Parade route
• Roman General coming home
• This must mean we always win
• Yes & No
• Already, but not yet (Kingdom is here)
• Full gospel – sozo – saved, healed, delivered
• Song - No perfect people
• In Christ this happens
• Fragrance – smell you can’t get away from
• Roman General coming home
• Incense burning, flowers – your nose told you someone was coming

The Key to the Movie Series

15 For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life.

Do you have a good Nose

• If this movie series is going to be more than entertainment... good nose (Paul had a one)
• Three words dealing with this sense
1. Aroma – Christ (euodia-good smell)
2. Smell – Death (osme-odor)
3. Fragrance – Life (osme-odor)
• Some may have deal with sozo
• Don’t fight that... open door will=peace
• The rest of us... 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God.

God wants to work through you

• God could speak to & through you
• Keys to more than a show...
1. Not a fake – with sincerity (Gr pure)
2. False motives
3. Nose like Paul – You know what peace is
