Who is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is God. To deny the Holy Spirit is to  deny God. John 4:24  God is Spirit  and those who worship HIM must worship Him in spirit and truth.

The Holy Spirit created the world            Genesis 1 : 2-3  Job 26 :13,the earth was without form or void, and darkness was a on the face of the deep. The Spirit of God was hovering on the face of the waters.                          Acts 28 : 25 - 26 here Paul quoted Isaiah 6 verse 9.

The Holy Spirit is God because:

The Holy Spirit has the attributes of God

Hebrews 9 :14  He is eternal – Deut 33:27 The eternal  God is your refuge,  and underneath are the everlasting arms, He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, “destroy.”

1 Corinthians 2 : 10 omniscient  He knows all things.

Luke 1:35 omnipotent - nothing is impossible.

Ps 139:7 -- omnipresent. Everywhere. To Warren one

The power of the Holy Spirit is even more effective to day because he is an all places at the same time. Where  can I go from your Spirit?  Or where can I flee from your presence.

The Holy Spirit  convicts  Romans 1 :4, John 3 : 5 - 7 reproved the world of sin, of righteousness, of judgment.

John's 16 :8, Matthew 12 :28  - the major function of the Holy Spirit.  –draws people to salvation.

The Holy Spirit is helper, comforter:   John 14:16-17 and I will pray the father, and he will give you another helper, that he may abide with you forever-the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive, because it neither  sees him nor knows him; but you know him  for he dwells with you and will be in you.

The Holy Spirit is the paraclete

--John 15:26 But when the helper comes whom I shall send you from the Father, the spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of me.

He wants His energy to be poured out through YOU

He wants His wisdom to be deposited in your life

He wants you to feel as He feels

He wants you to see what he is looking at

He wants to breathe the Holy Spirit through you

The bread of life [Jesus ] comes through the Holy Spirit.

We need His divine life t o be evident in us

We are to feel the compassion of God.

We are to be like God 2 Peter 1:3-4 we are to be partakers of the divine nature.

We are to feel –love –grace –mercy –for the person.

Like water coming out of a tap it can be clean or dirty.

The Holy Spirit gives life John 6: 63  the Holy Spirit gives  life, the flesh profits nothing.  The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life.

The Holy Spirit gives strength Acts 1:8 but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem and in  Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.   – power to witness.

The Holy Spirit strengthens and empowers us.

Without the Holy Spirit there it is a no  power.

His purpose is to equip us with power

He refreshes our mind and renews our  strength                    1 Cor 2:4-5  and my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive  words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but  in the power of God.

-power comes out from me

-power goes out before me.

-Romans 8 :14 for as many as are led by the Spirit of God  “these are sons of God.

-this gives us our  position—The position  of God in prayer is power

- the position of God in my life is power in my life-without the Holy Spirit there it is  no power

- We should pray and preach in the power of the Holy Spirit.

And the Holy Spirit is the teacher John 14:26, but the helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

The Holy Spirit brings a revelation

The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth     John 16:13 and in this part of a traitor when he this spirit of truth is come,  he will guide you in all truth, for he will not speak on his own authority but whatever he hears he will speak;  and he will tell  you things to come

As he hears  He speaks to us

The Holy Spirit is our Intercessor:

--His mercy endures forever

--Through Him we have access to the presence of God

Romans 8: 26-27  the spirit had helps us in our  weaknesses, He makes intercession for us

The Holy Spirit works with God

*To know the Holy Spirit is to know Jesus

*To know the truth is to know Jesus Christ

*Jesus is the power of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is our advocate for salvation. He helps us to accept  Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

He completely  changes our lives-through Jesus Christ we are converted and born again.

He comes into our hearts  when we are converted.

The Holy Spirit is with the believer forever.

We should be baptised in with the Holy Spirit.

Our conscience must be educated by works of the Holy Spirit    Romans 9: 1 I tell the  truth in Christ I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit.  ---a clear conscience  1 Jn 3    releases confidence.

Our mind is renewed by the Holy Spirit    1  Cor 2:13 these things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Romans 12:2

In the absence of Christ the Holy Spirit was to descend and, in one sense he was to take the place of Jesus Christ

Jesus was with them.

The Holy Spirit was to come in the place of Jesus Christ and yet He  is the Christ   Jn 14;17   the Spirit of truth whom the  world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows Him but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

The Holy Spirit is the personal representative of Jesus Christ

Because the apostles knew Jesus they knew the Holy Spirit

Because the apostles  knew the Holy Spirit they became problems solvers and so can we.

The Jesus I know who is the One who is the power of the Holy Spirit

But Our body  is the temple of the Holy Spirit     1 Cor 3:16  Do you not know that you are the temple of God to and that the spirit of God dwells in you

Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.   --For you were bought at a price therefore glorify  God in your  body and your  spirit, which are God’s

Deliberate willful sin  defiles and causes sickness. If you view

God speaks to the world by his Spirit Jn 16:23  And it in that day you will ask me nothing. Most assuredly I say to you whatever you ask the father and my name He will give you.

He listens by the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit gives us inspiration.   .

When we are born of the Spirit  the words we speak should be the word of the Spirit, Ps 107 :20 He sent His word and healed them.

The Holy Spirit testifies  of Jesus Christ   John 15:26   But when the helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the father the spirit of truth a melee who proceeds from the father, He will testify  of me
