Growth Comes with Problems

The more people that are added to any organization the more mess and needs are created.
Difference in the amount of stuff between first married and now.
Grumbling never solves an issue, but it does indicate a problem.
Phil 2:14-15 “Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,”
The problem then was that the Hellenistic (Greek speaking) Jews were being overlooked by the Hebrew (Aramaic speaking) Jews.
Jews that had been scattered throughout the world would return for

Problems are Met with Spiritual Service

There were two valid needs in the church, both of these were to be met with called and qualified servants.
The Apostles were called to the Service (diakonia) of the Word of God and prayer.
The new role of servant leaders was created to meet the needs of practical ministry.
It is not that one ministry is more important than another, but God calls us to fill different roles for the benefit of His Body.
The qualifications for servant leaders (deacons) are two-fold (Full of the Spirit and Wisdom).
1 Timothy 3:8-12 “Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well.”

Spiritual Service Leads to Growth

The result was further growth among the church.
When every member of the body of Christ finds their role of service and engages in it under the direction of the Spirit, the church is benefitted and grows.
