IDENTIFYING WITH HIS MEN
At the time he was elected to be President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower was one of the best known and most liked individuals in the world. And now he was perhaps the most powerful person in the world. Yet, Eisenhower never became caught up in his own greatness. He gave instructions that he wanted to be buried in the ordinary army casket that was used for those who died on the landings at Normandy. So Eisenhower's body rests in a simple ninety-five-dollar casket because he wanted to identify with his men.
