The Navy's electromagnetic railgun, which accelerates a projectile to 5,000 mph in 0.01 seconds using a simple (and enormous) charge, requires no explosives and only one man to load and fire. A few more facts:
• Each projectile is 18 inches long and weighs 23 pounds.
• The cost to fire a projectile is approximately $25,000—as much as 60 times less than traditional artillery.
• After storing up a charge, the gun releases 1,200 volts in 10 milliseconds.
• Firing distance exceeds 100 miles.
• In tests the projectiles were able to pierce three walls of reinforced concrete or six steel plates.
The Three Gorges Dam in Sandouping, China, is 607 feet tall and 1.4 miles wide—taller than the Washington Monument and several thousand feet longer than the Brooklyn Bridge. Its 22,500-megawatt-generating capacity is 1.5 times that of the next largest dam, producing an average of 273,790 megawatts of power each day. That's enough to run Orlando. For two weeks.
It weighs almost 800,000 pounds—and that's empty. Fully loaded, the BelAZ 75710 dump truck approaches 2 million. It's 32 feet wide and 67 feet long, which means it'd be a tight squeeze to fit on a standard tennis court (and an even tighter squeeze into tennis whites), and 26 feet tall. To power such a beast requires twin 2,300-hp diesel generators.
Universal Alloy, in the small city of Canton, Georgia, is one of the leading suppliers of structural components to companies including Boeing, Airbus, and defense manufacturers. It owes its preeminence to one extraordinary machine: a 75-year-old, 9,000-ton aluminum-extrusion press—the most powerful one in the free world. The extrusion process is straightforward: A block of solid aluminum is pushed through a die, forming a strong, seamless structure. It's similar to squeezing toothpaste from a tube. Or like Play-Doh, but for machine parts. To make 100-foot wing struts for the A380, however, or the sockets that attach a 747's wings to its fuselage, takes a huge amount of force. Universal Alloy's machine generates 16,200 tons of pressure in order to turn 5,000-pound bathtub-sized billets of solid metal into toothpaste.
The machine is nearly 300 feet long and is anchored to a concrete foundation 10 feet thick.
The largest container ship ever built—the 1,302-foot-long Emma Mærsk—requires the most powerful engine in the world, the Wärtsilä-Sulzer RTA96-C diesel. A few notable details: Weight: In total, the engine weighs 2,300 tons (300 tons of that is the crankshaft). Dimensions: The engine itself is 89 feet long and 44 feet tall. Its maximum horsepower is 108,920 at 102 rpm.
Blue whales can get as long as 100 feet and weigh as much as 200 tons. A 150-ton whale can exert 120 kilo- newtons of power—roughly double the thrust of an F-15 fighter jet.
The most powerful weapon ever detonated, the Soviet Union's Big Ivan hydrogen bomb, could vaporize everything in a 40-mile radius of its target. The Russians detonated it on the remote island of Novaya Zemlya in the Arctic Ocean in October 1961, at the peak of the Cold War. "No more powerful weapon has ever been created, or even seriously contemplated as far as we know,"
The average rhinoceros beetle can lift about 850 times its body weight. To equal the power of this 6-inch bug, 350-pound Ryan Kennelly--who holds the world bench-press record of 1,075 pounds--would need to max out at 300,000 pounds.
As Powerful as all those things are there is nothing is more powerful than God’s Word...
Jeremiah was a prophet who warned the people of Judah for many years concerning their eventual destruction because of idolatry and sin. He was ignored by the people, and in order to negate his preaching many other "self-appointed" prophets preached that all was peace and prosperity. Jeremiah's response to these false prophets is found in the 23rd chapter of his book where he says:
Jeremiah 23:29–30 NASB95
“Is not My word like fire?” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer which shatters a rock? “Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the Lord, “who steal My words from each other.
In other words, only the true word of God has any power, and God opposes men who simply quote each other and attribute it to Him. History shows that Jeremiah's prophecies were indeed true. And like the fire and hammer that crushes the rock, the Babylonian army marched in and destroyed Jerusalem — exactly as God's word had predicted. This story illustrates why I am not afraid or ashamed to say, "Because the Bible says so," when questioned on certain issues or challenged to defend my reasoning. You see, it's not just any knowledge that will result in experiencing God's power — only the knowledge of His word can lead a person to the true knowledge of Him and consequently His power.
General or scientific knowledge won't do it.Knowledge of various religions won't get you there. Philosophies of men.

Power to Refute — 2 Timothy 3:16

God's word is a standard against which all philosophies, ideas, and proposed solutions for the human condition can be measured for accuracy. If God's word approves it, we can run with it; if the Word rejects it, nothing we can do will make it work, make it acceptable, or make it right.
Note that moral standards and spiritual ideas are always compared to the Bible in order to define and judge their value. For example, we don't compare butter to margarine, do we? Think for a moment, you've never heard a commercial say, "...this spread tastes just like margarine" have you? Butter is the definitive spread, not margarine. In the same way, spiritual concepts, morality, and Godly living are tested by searching the Scriptures because God's word is the standard for comparison, not human ideas.
The Bible cannot eliminate immorality, but it is the standard by which we judge and prove if something or someone is moral or immoral, worthy or unworthy.reasoning.

It has the power to equip for every good work

2 Timothy 3:16–17 NASB95
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Power to Save Your Soul

James 1:21 NASB95
Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
1 Corinthians 1:18 NASB95
For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Romans 1:16 NASB95
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

3. Power to Reproduce —

Luke 8:11 NASB95
“Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God.
Jesus said that the word of God was like a seed. The analogy was that the Word had the power to grow or cause growth to happen. The Word planted in an honest and obedient heart can produce physical acts which can be seen and felt. God's word, planted in human hearts generation after generation, has produced Christians and the New Testament church century after century. The only way Christianity has survived for 2000 years is because of the reproductive powers contained in the Word. The only actual thing we hand down from generation to generation is God's word contained in the Bible. People die and buildings fall apart, but His word unfailingly produces the same thing every century - Christians who want to establish the church.

Power to change lives completely

Paul and His conversion Acts 22:6-16.
Every complete life-change, every turn-around that I read or hear about has one common element — God's word.
Someone began reading God's word (my own case).Someone started a Bible study with someone else.Someone heard a lesson or received encouragement based on God's word.
only God's word has the power to completely transform and re-direct one's life in a totally opposite direction. For example, C.S. Lewis was a brilliant writer and professor at Oxford University in England. He was also an avowed atheist but was converted and eventually became one of the most prolific Christian writers, especially in the area of Christian apologetics. His experience is just one example showing that God's word has the power to transform and redirect our lives.

Power to Accomplish its purpose

Isaiah 55:10–11 NASB95
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
Hebrews 4:12–13 NASB95
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
He-Man - I HAVE THE POWER
Sanctification and Spirtual Growth - need to get it into our hearts and mind
Evngelism and Mission - it needs to be in our hearts and mouths. Gods Word converts and saves not clever stories but God’s word
Apologetics - no problem in defending the the faith against the skeptic or cynic. Don’t be afraid or embarassed by the bible, it powerful. your not going to a knife fight with a spork; but a sharp two edged sword. the book is a lion! you don’t defend lions, you just open the cage.
