God brings creation to a close.
Everything that has been created in the Heavens and Earth was completed on day six.

This verse counters the idea of evolution. More created kinds are forming if evolution is true and still happening.
What about Aliens?
What about Aliens?
Why I don’t believe there is intelligent life on other planets:
If there is intelligent life, then it was created during the six days of creation, though the Bible says nothing about such beings (unlike angels and demons).
Intelligent life would seem to imply that other creatures were made in God’s image, not just mankind.
Does not fit with the purpose of the celestial beings: for signs and for seasons, and for days and years and for displaying the glory of God.

Blessed means to praise.
Holy means to set apart.
Significance of the Seventh Day
Significance of the Seventh Day
Established the seven day week.
Became the holy day of ceasing from work.
Established the importance of rest.
Why Rest Matters
Why Rest Matters
It is modeled by God.
It is commanded by God.
Rest gives us space to appreciate all of our blessings.
Rest allows us to refresh.
Exodus 31:17 “It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’ ””
