PASTORAL PRAYER 11-6-22
Pastoral Prayer:
Praise & Admiration of God. Immortal, invincible Father, hallowed be Thy name. You created Heaven and earth. You created us. All things you have created by You and for you. Be pleased this morning with the sacrifices of praise of your people. Be pleased because of Jesus Christ through whom we offer all things.
Indeed your love is deep, so cause us not to boast in anything save Jesus Christ and His cross.
Government Leaders. For our public servants we ask your care and protection. For Peter Morris, Heath Martin, Michael Distefano, Bryce Stumpf, Joe Johnson, Sam Allen, and Jon Wheeler -- that you would grant them compassion as husbands, wisdom as fathers, safety as officers of the laws of our land. That you would protect them from sins of the heart, and that you would give them deepened affections for you.
Praises and Struggles of Congregation. For our congregation, we praise you for the ongoing shepherd’s training, the safety of mission travel, the youth worship service with Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, the successful staff planning meeting, and our congregating this morning.
For the struggles of our congregation, we ask for your tender, compassionate care. For those in our midst who are irritable for unbiblical reasons and for those who are recovering from trials of health. For Sandy Benson, Patty Weaver, and Don Overpeck we ask for grace to endure their physical trials.
Sanctification of Congregation. Would you please cause our congregation to grow in thanksgiving? Would you please cause us to grow in contentment? Would you please cause us to carefully consider Jesus Christ our Lord? Would you please allow us to know, feel, and yield to Your blessed Holy Spirit? Would you allow the words of Colossians to penetrate our hearts, change our affections, and further sanctify our living?
Other Churches. For Kurt Strassner and the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, please guide their worship this morning. Please save the lost and edify the saints of that body for your glory.
Those Taking Gospel Around World. Thank you for the families that you have raised up through this church to send the gospel around the world. We pray for the South and Green Families. Please continue to bless their language learning efforts. For the Puente families -- please continue to bless their training efforts. For the Reinhardt family -- please continue to bless their evangelism and discipleship. For those who are here with us, that you would grant them rest while they are here and favor with the governments where they will be returning. Especially, for the Depew family, that they might have their visa for South Africa approved.
The Lost. For the lost in our midst, that you would save them. That the teen who thinks he is ok, would get a glimpse of Christ, of his own sinfulness, and of his desperate condition. For the Sr. Saint who is comfortable in her sin, that you would grant her repentance. For the child who is ignorant, that you would open their minds to receive the gospel.
