In Preparation for Anointing...
Here are a few things to keep in mind as we prepare for your anointing service:
1. Be clear on the difference between faith and presumption. A person who has faith desires healing, and is willing to obey God. A person who has presumption also wants healing, but is not willing to live in obedience to God’s commands. God does not want to heal a person in their disobedience. A life of faith is a life of obedience. God is not just interested in relieving a person’s suffering but in saving them for eternity – and this is a call to obedience (Note: This does NOT mean that if God does not heal you, it’s because you are living in disobedience. There may be other factors involved as well, as we will see below.)
2. Confession and forsaking of all known sin
a. Are there some issues in your life you need to ask God forgiveness for?
b. Are there some things you need to set straight with a family or church member – someone you have wronged, but have not settled issues with them yet?
c. You need to ensure that there are no blockages between you and God that may hinder an answer for healing.
3. We will be praying for God to heal you, according to His will. What does it mean to pray according to God’s will? It means that God may heal you in one of 3 ways:
a. Immediately
b. Gradually – maybe over the next few weeks or months as you obey His health laws
c. At the Second Coming when He will restore all things
In all 3 of these instances, healing is assured, but allow God to decide the howand the when. God, in His wisdom, knows how to answer each case. Accept, with a sense of peace in your heart, His wise answer for your life.
4. You can confidently do the following things since they do not imply a lack of faith in God’s healing power:
a. Ensure that your will and testament is up to date
b. Use nature’s agencies for healing after the anointing service – poultices, herbs, hydrotherapy, etc.
c. Speak words of encouragement and counsel to close relatives as if you were on your deathbed
5. What God expects when healing does come?
a. You would be under renewed obligation to serve Him
b. You are to live in obedience to His commands – both spiritual and physical
c. You are to be a witness to others of God’s power to heal. Do not keep your testimony to yourself

God’s Promises to Meditate on and Claim:
· Josh 1:9 – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
