17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Adam’s sin brought death
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
Grace is wonderful

13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

Malcolm Muggeridge, the famous British philosopher, and journalist who converted to Christianity late in life, once told of working as a journalist in India as a
young man. One evening he walked down to the river for a swim. As he entered
the water, he saw an Indian woman from the nearby village who had come for her
evening bath. Muggeridge immediately felt the allurement of the moment, and he
was besieged by temptation. He had lived with this kind of temptation all his adult
life, but until this moment he had fought it off out of respect for his wife Kitty. But
tonight, he was weak and vulnerable. He hesitated just a moment, then swam furiously across the river toward the woman, literally trying to outdistance his con-
science. But when he was just a few feet away from her, he emerged from the water
and what he saw took his breath away. She wasn't a beautiful young maiden, but
old and hideous, with wrinkled skin, and worst of all, she was a leper. He said later,
"The creature grinned at me, showing a toothless mask,” Muggeridge muttered,
"What a dirty, lecherous woman!" But as he swam away from her, a sudden shock
gripped him: "It wasn't just the woman who was dirty and lecherous," he said.
"'It was my own heart.?"

Richmond had a friend named Julie who owned a pet raccoon. Since a thirty pound raccoon can equal a one-hundred-pound dog in a fight, he felt compelled to
warn her of the coming change.
"It'll be different for me," she replied with a smile. "Bandit wouldn't hurt me.
He just wouldn't."
Three months later Julie underwent plastic surgery for facial lacerations sustained
when her adult raccoon attacked her for no apparent reason. Bandit was released
into the wild.
Sin, too, often comes dressed in an adorable guise, and as we play with it, it's easy to say, "It will be different for me. The results are predictable.'

Whatever sin you or I think will bring comfort when we are lonely

When we are bored
That sin will leave us with death
Sin is a short-lived pleasure that leaves indescribable sadness
We should know the love of God
We should know the grace of God
We should also know the destructive power of sin
Sin causes children to be fatherless
Sin causes children to be motherless
Sin causes Christian servants to quit serving in shame
Sin keeps missionaries off the mission field
Sin divides churches
Greed keeps people from giving so people can be saved
Sin keeps people living in bitterness for decades
Sin gets people to stop coming and worshipping at church and keeps them from getting right with the Lord
Sin keeps people from reconciling
Sin produces more sin and leaves a path of destruction
Sin has the nature of Hell
Sin will take more than you have
How to Defeat Sin
A. Salvation
Recognize your a sinner
Recognize you need a Saviour
Recognize Jesus paid the sin debt
Recognized Jesus resurrected proving He is the way the truth and the life.
Put your faith in Christ alone tonight if you haven’t
Sin is an enemy to your future.
Sin is an enemy to your family.
B. You must understand that the reproach of Jesus is higher of higher value and quality than the riches of this world.

C. Fearing God Gives Victory Over Sin

D. We Must Give Our Body and our life Daily to the Lord

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
Just as you yielded yourself to sin,
Yield to the Lord
With the same fervency you yielded to sin, yield to righteousness
E. Make No Provision
Our lives are God’s to control
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
If you have a problem with drink you can’t have alcohol near you
F. Recon yourself dead to sin
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
