Romans 5:1-4
In the first four chapters of Romans we have the first major section of the book - that is “The Gospel Explained.
Now we come today to the second section of this book chapters 5-8, we could title this section “The Gospel Experienced”
Verse number one of chapter five starts with Therefore being justified by faith.
He has spent the last chapter showing five illustrations or arguments of how Abraham, and we, are justified by faith and not the Law.
So he can state emphatically - Therefore Being justified by faith!
So now Paul moves in to answer the question of what are the results, benefits, or blessings of being justified by faith?
In chapter five we see the blessings of our justification in verses 1-11, and the basis of our justification in verses 12-21.
Today we are just going to look at the first five verses.
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
