1st Kings 18 41-45
And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, for there is a sound of the rushing of rain.” So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel. And he bowed himself down on the earth and put his face between his knees. And he said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” And he went up and looked and said, “There is nothing.” And he said, “Go again,” seven times. And at ther seventh time he said, “Behold, a little cloud like a man's hand is rising from the sea.” And he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot and go down, lest the rain stop you.’” And in a little while the heavens grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode and went to Jezreel.

“The drought over”
Introduction
A drought usually refers to a period of lower-than-average precipitation leading to sustained periods of low water supply and the resultant negative effects of such an event. Droughts often lead to famines and result in the deaths of humans, animals, and plants. A list of the different types of droughts and their causes is listed below.
Meteorological/Climatological Drought
Droughts caused due to meteorological factors are most common in nature and usually precede other types of droughts. Such an event is caused by a prolonged period of low precipitation. Dry weather patterns dominate the area experiencing a climatological drought. The severity of such droughts depends on the magnitude of the shortfall of precipitation, as well as the duration of the shortfall event.
Agricultural Drought
An agricultural drought occurs when crop growth in an area is adversely affected due to drought. Often, meteorological droughts lead to agricultural droughts. Low levels of precipitation over a sustained period of time can lead to crop failure. However, such droughts can also occur in the absence of changes in precipitation levels. Poor agricultural practices can occasionally lead to changes in soil conditions or soil erosion that will decrease the amount of water available to crops for proper growth. Agricultural droughts are more common in non-irrigated agricultural areas where a plant’s source of water is largely dependent on prevailing weather conditions.
Hydrological Drought
Hydrological droughts occur when a water supply becomes scarce due to lower water levels in water bodies likes lakes, rivers, and reservoirs.
Socioeconomic Drought
A socioeconomic drought occurs when the demand for an economic good is greater than its supply due to a water deficit created by shortfalls in precipitation and other weather-related adverse changes. Many goods like food grains, fodder, fish, and hydroelectricity need an adequate water supply for sufficient production. F
I would suggest that there is
a spiritual drought as well
We have need of spiritual rain..A spiritual drought can be caused by is feeding the flesh more than the spirit
Paul said it like this
“I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”
Romans 7:21-23 KJV
Jesus told his disciples in on the mount when they could not stay awake for an hour that spirit man is willing but the flesh is weak.
Paul turned back around and said we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places.
This let me know there will be season of our lives when we go through a spiritual drought..
A spiritual drought if we are not careful can distract, discourge and detour us.
A spiritual drought can be when it seems as though nothing is moving in our favor.
Where it seems as though everyone is making progress but us.
Seems as though things are happening for everyone but us.
We log on to Facebook or instagram and see everybody getting married, getting a home,
Having children, and it seems as though your life is in a drought.
Truth of the matter is all of us have felt that way at one point or another.
I came today to encourage those who clapped for everyone else when it rained in their life even in it seems like you were in a desert.
God is about to send some spiritual rain in your life, and every dry place, situation, and or relationship is about to nourished and brought back to life.
Lord send your rain to every Dry place of my life.
I came to encourage you to prepare for what you prayed for.
We pray for God to things in our life but often times prayer come as a result of preparation…..
Christians in Jamaica [were] called to prayer by [the] pastor [because the country] greatly needed rain. As [they] prayed, torrents fell. But only [one] little girl had really believed he would answer; she showed her faith by bringing her umbrella to [the] prayer meeting!
~Pray but prepare~
My brothers and sisters I truelly believe that we are in a season of expected prayers being answered. A season of droughts being watered, families being restored, and even restoring of financial assets.
My brothers and sisters when we realize how, Big and powerful our God is there are some issues that we are worried and stressed out about won’t bother your mind anymore.
When we realize how powerful our God is there are some of the things that we’ve been anxious about won’t work anymore and God will give us peace.
Look at someone and say he’s a powerful God.
He’s so powerful that he spoke to light and called it day. He spoke to darkness and called it night.
He so powerful that he created man in his own image…
He’s so powerful that he spoke to the air and separated sky from the seas.
The Bible said in Matthew 26:6
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Your just that valuable to God…that when you cry out he hears
Psalms 34:17
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
When you begin to realize how valuable your are to God you will be fin to use your authority different.
Yes you are VIP when it comes to God.. he cares for you.
The Bible says cast your cares on Jesus because he cares for you.
He knows the numbers of hairs on your head. He knows every hurt he knows everything that you’re going through.
He knows everything that you been through and what you’re going to go through and when you belong to him you can trust and believe that whatever you’re going through God is going to work out.
Romans 8:28
Said it like this and we know that all things work together for the good of them that love the lord and those who are called according to his purpose.
When you get this you can understand that there are something’s that I may not know how it’s going to workout but I know it’s going to work out for my good.
Look at someone say it’s going to work out for your good.
As a matter of fact some is can look back over our lives and say if it had not been for the lord.
Where would I be.
You can look at the ways he made and you can like tye tribute. If he did it before. He can do it again.
The same God right now….Same God back then.
Is there anyone in here expecting God to do something in your life.
Context
The people of Judah begin to worship false Gods they begin to worship false of prophets prophets of Baal.
Worshipped God and Baal
there were seven thousand faithful ones in Israel; but what were these against such a queen as Jezebel, against such a propaganda and such a system as hers? It was then no longer a question of heresy or schism, of calves or cherubim, of Jeroboam’s or Jehovah’s priests; the very existence of the Church was at stake.
So Elijah a true prophet of God came and prophesied to the people that Due to their disobedience that God was going to send a drought
III. His Message. It was a denunciation of immediate drought, one of the most terrible calamities that can befal an Eastern land.
That’s why we must be careful what we put before God…Whatever we do put God first..
Because he is a God that comes second to nothing and no one..He’s a Jealous God and we should have no other God before him..
That why we should seek God first because if we seek him first he will give us everything else…
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all of these things shall be added unto you.
Our society has begin to worship everything But God it seems. We Worship rappers, We worship our homes our material things. Is okay to like but don’t worship.
My brothers and sisters I we are not careful today the church will become like Israel in that season when we everything But God.
How many know your worship is important and oftentimes we must ask ourselves what am I worshipping.
Watch your worship.
True Worship my brothers and sisters is given to God and God alone
How to worship
John 4 20:4 declares God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Scripture readings back this in
1 Chronicles 16:29
Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: Bring an offering, and come before him: Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Psalm 5:7
But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: And in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
Psalm 29:2
Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
However there are scripture that gives us warning against false worship
Exodus 32:8
They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
Deuteronomy 11:16
Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
2 Kings 17:16
And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
Everyday is a chance for us to worship,
Even what we are about celebrate Thanksgiving, but really is an act of worship, we are thanking God for what he is doing and going to do, as a matter of fact you don’t have to wait until Thursday to thank him take a moment and worship him with Thanksgiving…
So Elijah proclaimed a drought.. Because of the people idol worship..
The drought was for three years in the bible.
The last three years have been hectic. From 2019-2022. I would suggest that the last three years we have all experienced some sort of drought.
Difference droughts we have experienced-
Economical drought-
Spiritual Drought-
Drought of mental strenght
Drought of racial descripencies.
Somebody ought to speak to yourself and say the drought its over…
The next 3 months God is going to release the rain of the drought for the last three years…
I know the last three years but God said there is about to be a release,
I know the last three years have been tough but God is about to give a release…
Decree and Declare Release!!!!!
So we find that Elijah returns back to the land and meets with
Obadiah, Although he was under leadership that was serving Baal hid 100 of God's prophets when Ahab and Jezebel was taking them out.
Elijah's tells him to run back and tell Ahab that he saw him. During this time, Elijah was a wanted man. He was to blame for the drought.
So Because Elijah was to blame for the drought he challenged the people to
Elijah confirms with Ahaab to have the people gather bringing 400 prophets of Baal.
Elijah warned the people to repent and asked how long will you continue to sit on the fence. if God be God follow him,,, If ball be baal follow him. (In other words make up in your mind whom you will serve.
Elijah claimed to be the only True prophet of God left.
He challenged the people to bring up two oxen: butcher it cut it, and lay it out on the alter of firewood but don't fire the light to start the fire.
and likewise he would do the same take two calfs cut it and lay it at the alter without lighting a fire.
He challenged them to pray to their God at the alter and he would pray to the true and living God.
The people agreed.
So the prophets of Baal set up the oxen prepared the oxen and they begin to pray to baal all morningbut nothing happened.
So by noon Elijah begin to make wise the foolish ways of those who were worshiping baal..
Elijah finally says enough of that its was his turn to cry out to the living God and he gathered them around took twelve stones on for each tribes of Jacob and he cried out to God when it was time for the sacrifice to be made. God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, Iam doing what is right in your eyes he says Lord Answer me.
Immediately the fire of God fell and burned up the offering the wood the stons the dirt and even the water in the trench.All the people saw it and fell on their faces in awed worship proclaiming that God is the true God! God is the true God.
although it was 400 prophets of Baal it was only Elijah, I came to talk to those who seems like the odds are not in your favor I came to talk to those whose seem like its more of them and less of you…
I came to encourage if God is for you who can be against you…
Don’t worry about your doubters in this season, but God told me to tell you that he’s about to prove through you that he is still God….
Look at someone and say if need proof that there is a God, look at me I’m to proof.
Reminds me of a story about a young boy at the kitchen table, who mother notices him drawing on a piece of paper, He has crayola box coloring taking out all the crayons and using them on his canvas…
The mother asked the young boy, son what are you painting, the young boy gently replied, I’m painting God,
The mother looked at the son with a gentle voice and replied son, I don’t mean to hurt your feelings, I don’t mean to disappoint you, I don’t mean to be rude, but she replies son no one know what God looks like…
The young boy continued painting and looked at the mother and said, mother I don’t mean to hurt your feelings, he said mother, I know y’all told me not to talk back, he said momma I don’t mean no disrespect, he said but momma by the time Im done painting this picture, your gonna know what God look like.
I’ll I’m trying to say is God is painting a picture in your life and by the time is said and done your going go be the proof of what God look like.

Ahab who was humiliated by Elijah's demand, must not have ate or been in a state of depression, However,
Elijah tells him to get out and eat and drink because RAIN was about to fall to celebrate the end of the drought..
There is now, he suggests, no further cause for anxiety or alarm. The people being repentant (vers. 39, 40), and the men who have brought a curse on the land being cut off, the drought can now be abated
He did not need see the rain to tell his servant to report to Israel..
Real faith is when you don’t see it but you rejoice in the fact that although I dont see it I know that Rain is on the way.
The king of kings
HE heard it before.. 45th verse it came to pass..
In the text we find Elijah explaining to Ahab that it was time to eat and drink, (was Ahab fasting or was this a celebration) for Elijah heard the sound of a rushing mighty wind 💨 (He heard the wind before he could see the rain 🌧️)
(Sometimes God have us hear it or feel it before we can see it)
(I have a feeling that things are about to get better for you)
So as Ahab went to eat and drink.
not only does he tells him to eat and drink but he tells him to prepare….
The Bible declares in the heaven became Black before it rained.....Sometimes things get dark right before the rain....The dark clouds is a representation that rain is on the way...If things begin to get dark in your life it's a sign that it is about to rain....
Elijah While in worship tells his servant to look out for rain.
The servant Looked and there was nothing....
Nothing......
Don’t stop looking
The word prepare in greek asar was meaning to bind the chariots...
Karmel-means Plentiful place
The sound of rain Abundance-greeek meaning-Hamon-Commotion,agitation, commotion turmoil: Noise, "The words represents lively commotion of agitation.
Elijah casted himself down on the earth. which means he stretched himself(Gahar)
Continually Ahab came back reported that there was no rain….until the 7th time.
He reports that he sees a cloud about the size of a mans hand.
7 is the number of completion.
Things have to get Cloudy,
Things have to get dark
and Loud
Before there is rain.
There a few nuggets that we can get from Elijah in the text
1. Elijah went up on Mt. Caremal to worship.
2.While worshiping he sends his assistance to go up towards the sea and look for rain
3.No rain until the 7th look
4.He recognized the small cloud-
A little cloud at the letting of no bigger than a mans hand appeared which eventually spread over the heavens and watered the earth. (Don’t despise small beginnings, because great things comes from small beginnings)
1.Shows us the power of consistent prayer
2.You shouldn’t be afraid to try again.
2.There are some us who are in a drought.
A drought can be some of our own issues in this day.
A. Sickness can be a drought.
B. Family issues can be a drought.
C. Addiction can be a drought.
Depression can be a drought.
D. Worry stress and anxiety can be a drought.
No matter what kind of drought you are facing God can make it rain.
Look at someone say he’s about to make it rain.
Look at someone say lord rain on my issues.
Rain on my family.
Rain on my finances.
7.Your consistency pushes God to move on your behalf.
Sometimes we need to look again. Take a second look. You may can’t see the rains but God is about to show you some clouds.. The clouds is indication that rains.
He’s getting ready to show you a sign for what you prayed for.
Be steadfast unmovable always abounding in the work of the lord know ye this that your labor is not in vain.

He worshiped-
His stayed consistent-
He separated himself on the mount-
Finally he told Ahab to prepare.
Worship, stay consistent and prepare.
But God protected him.
Closing
There was another situation that Darkness covered the earth….
The world was in a drought……. A
Drought of sin….and needed someone of decree and declare the drought was over…
A drought of sin….
But something happened when the sky turned dark…
Jesus hung on the cross from the 6th to the 9th hour….
He died….
I heard how he went to the grave
He stayed there one day…
He stayed there two days…
But early Sunday morning he got up with all Power in his hands…
Decreeing and declaring that the drought is over….
We have an advocate.
