As we’ve been reminded of recently, the dangers of war, disease and death are never that far from us. It’s easy to distract ourselves in our own happy worlds, but that doesn’t mean those threats don’t lurk around the corner. And even if they never touch us, there are plenty of other struggles we face in life. But there is encouragement for us, in even the most dire circumstances. Encouragement that comes directly from God. And Psalm 91 is a great example of that encouragement. It strengthens us in difficult times. It gives us an eye-opening vision of God’s help. And it provides an example of how we can also encourage others.
