Parenting God's Way: A Message to Children

HONORING YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER

EXODUS 20:12; EPHESIANS 6:1-4

5TH COMMANDMENT – Honor Your Father and Mother

Why was this so important that it was necessary to be a commandment??

Consider the weight of this commandment with the other 9 commandments.  God, murder, lying, stealing, adultery, etc.

How do children honoring their parent’s effect parenting??

Of the remaining 9, 4 are related to God and 5 are morals!!

How can children who are adopted into a same sex home be obedient to this commandment?   Aren’t they being set up for failure??

PARENTING THRU DISCIPLINE:

Discipline is biblically correct.  It is the abuse that is sinful.

Wine, food, anger, speech are all gifts from God.  What are the abuses?  Drunkards, gluttony, murder, course language, crude jokes, etc.

ALL, including discipline of children are taught in the scriptures to Honor God.
