The Ministries of Jesus Week 2

Mending

Robert Morris

Last week was great. Dr. Carson and James. Twice is always better!
He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Easter was Salvation.
This week is Mending. Five Foundational Ministries of Jesus:

Saving Mending Freeing Healing Anointing

Jesus Saves, Mends, Frees, Heals, and Anoints!

Luke 4:16

So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.

Luke 4:17

And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

Luke 4:18

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted … ”
He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted! 2 Greek words. Broken, Hearted
“Suntribo" means "to break in pieces, to shatter, to bruise,"
He heals broken, shattered, and bruised hearts!
“Kardia". Cardiac, meaning the heart (thoughts and feelings).
Some heart transplants have memories from the other person!
Many believe the heart is conjoined with the soul.

Proverbs 23:7

for as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

Matthew 9:4

But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?”
It’s not talking about your actual heart.
Have you ever said, “I love you with all my heart!”
You weren’t saying, “I love you with all my pump!”
The heart is the seat of our thoughts and emotions
And many times, our hearts get broken, shattered, and bruised!
Loss of a relationship, dream, career, finances, (Security)
Jesus came to heal the broken hearted! Emotional healing!
To set at liberty those who are oppressed (Old KJ says bruised)
A bruise is a broken heart. It’s broken capillaries under the skin
And if it’s injured again, it can begin bleeding again
To set at liberty (free) the bruised! A bruise can hold you in bondage
Many times, we have wounds from our childhood or past
That haven’t been healed yet. Jesus came to heal you and set you free!
Today is going to be different because I’m going to minister to you
I don’t have 3 points. I want to share with you about emotional healing
And then minister to you as if we were in your home alone
I mentioned to you about a bruise, bleeding under the surface
If it’s bumped, reinjured, it can begin bleeding again
Everybody can be joking around, and one person gets hurt
I didn’t know she was sensitive about that!
We were watching a rerun of Magnum PI. Elaine said that’s sick!
I had real skinny legs – There’s a string, oh that’s your leg!
When these things happened, we didn’t know how to submit them to Christ
Since they’re unhealed, we need to submit them
To the only one who can heal them, the brokenhearted and bruised
I’m telling you because I received more freedom from this
It was like everything was brighter and I was lighter when I left
It completely changed the way I responded to people
Many people don’t understand that these bruises are still there
I hated to be corrected!
It’s like when I chose to not say He is Risen
Now I love to be corrected, adjusted, put back on course
Many can’t be corrected because they haven’t been emotionally healed
A friend asked the Holy Spirit to recall memories to my mind to be healed
And these memories came to my mind that I hadn’t thought of in years
But they were there, in my mind and soul, and were affecting me
Sometimes, he would have a word of knowledge about a memory
It was like it hurt so much, I had repressed it
He said I see a little boy crying on a playground
And the kids are laughing at him because he can’t pronounce his “R’s”
If your name is Todd Lane, but when your name is “Wobut Mowis”
And you’ve moved to a new school, it’s not ok!
I was ministering to a guy who look like Grizzly Adams (Show Picture)
He was a great big guy, and I had a word of knowledge
I see a boy running through a field being chased by a car
His uncle chased him, and his father and uncle laughed at him for crying
He fell on his hands and knees and began to wail!
He had been in numerous fights and felt like the Incredible Hulk
He knew he couldn’t control it so he didn’t want to have a wife or children
He was 35 and never married because of his violent temper
He said he realized he was beating up his father and uncle
Anger is like water in a boiling pot, eventually it will boil over
Get the water out and turn the fire up as high as you want
And nothing boils over! He married a widow with 3 small children!

Psalm 147:3

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Isaiah 42:3

“A bruised reed He will not break” (Matthew 12:20)
My mother was brokenhearted and severely bruised when she was 16
I shared it in the 2nd Room 12 series, Sept. 13, 2014, Rebellious Roots
My grandfather was shot 3 times with a 45 caliber at close range He had 8 holes in him because one of the bullets entered his arm,
Then exited his arm and 2 entered his chest, and then exited his chest
They got a cot for him to lie down on under a tree in the front yard
They put bags of ice on his chest to try and stop the bleeding
This is why older people call the refrigerator the icebox!
A girl should never have to see her father in that condition
There were no school counselors, and no one helped her through it
My mother didn’t talk about it for 63 years!
I saw my mother experience healing when she was able to talk about it
But it was Jesus who healed her heart and set her free from the bruise
Jesus can and will heal your broken heart and your bruises!
I’m going to ask the Holy Spirit to bring memories to your mind
That He wants to heal today! Not for hurt but for healing Then I’m going to lead you in a prayer and then pray over you

Almighty Father, I submit these memories to You. I ask You to heal me now from all the stress and give me holy forgetfulness. I choose now, by an act of my will, to forgive, to forget, and to be healed in Jesus’ name!

Holy forgetfulness doesn’t mean we won’t have the memory any more
It means we won’t have the stress and pain associated with the memory
Then I’m going to pray a prayer of healing and freedom over you
I choose now to forgive every person involved including me
And to forget! We’re choosing to forget the way God forgets
Not to bring it up again to use against us or others!
Sometimes, demonic spirits try to attach themselves to these memories
They come to us as a comforting spirit but are really tormenting spirits
They masquerade as angels of light!

2 Corinthians 11:14 (NLT)

But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

2 Corinthians 11:15 (NLT)

So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness.
They come to us and say, “He shouldn’t have said or done that!” You will never be able to get over this
You can’t forgive him for this!
And then they torment us for the rest of our lives
Until we choose to forgive and forget!
We choose to not bring it up to use against us ever again!
You don’t have to repeat the prayer after me out loud
But please don’t just repeat it in your heart
But pray it to the Lord sincerely!
Almighty Father, I submit these memories to you. I ask you to heal me now from all the stress and give me holy forgetfulness. I choose now, by an act of my will, to forgive, to forget, and to be healed, in Jesus Name!
