Who is this Savior?
See “Who is this Savior?”
(Names of the Savior by E. Keith Hassell)
What is His Name?
The angel Gabriel instructed Mary to call His name JESUS (Luke 1:31)
The angel of the LORD instructed Joseph to call His name JESUS (Matthew 1:21)
At His circumcision He was given the name of JESUS
What is the Significance of that Name?
The Greek name in Scripture for “Jesus” is Iesous (Strong’s #G2424).
The Hebrew name for Jesus Is YAHshua (Yeshua).
The name YAH is a shortened form of YAHWEH.
“Shua” means “salvation”
Thus, the name YAHshuah means, “YAHWEH Saves”.
Thus, the name of Jesus signifies His divinity: Immanuel (God with Us).
(Matthew 1:23)
Why is He given the name of JESUS?
He will save His people from their sins
There is SALVATION in no other name
