Intro: In our Wednesday bible study, discussion on spiritual warfare. There is an evil that pervades our society. Unless you are fully armed with the armaments of God and the word of God, your soul is in danger of eternal damnation….
The bible is replete with warnings and instructions for the people of God..Many who think that they are secure will be lost because they are not committed to a life of holiness…
2 Timothy 3:1-4 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
There is a danger of falling away from God because of a lack of love for God and a disciplined commitment to His word!
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
People want a life in Christ that does not require change!!! Led to believe that God can be worshipped any kind of way.
GODLINESS: requires a disciplined life lifestyle: It is essential to your inheriting the kingdom of God.. 2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

When our desires are not governed by God, we are in direct violation of God’s word and that is sin!!
There is the sin of commission 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.1 John 3:9 (KJV)9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
and the sins of omission.... James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Willful disobedience grieves the Holy Spirit:
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Proverbs 1:28-29 ( Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
Godliness is a right attitude and response to God..1 Tim. 6:11
Our lives should reflect God’s holiness…1 Peter 1:15
Purity is a prerequisite to holiness..Psalm 24:2-3 John 3:5-7
The real threat to the church is not persecution from without but corruption from within..A true child of God is sanctified…
Gal. 5:16…Romans 8:9 ineligible for the promises to the saints
Romans 8:14-17, 8:12-13…Gal. 5:22
In a state of unrighteousness/ unforgiveness ….Prayers are not answered..Proverbs 1:23-29, 31
How should the saints live?...1 peter3:10-12 be willing to test your desires…1 Thess. 5:21
