Isaiah 50:4-9 Philippians 2:5-11
Intro: We are the point now which begins passion week when Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem. The final phase of Christ’s earthly ministry. During our Lord’s last days on earth, he fulfilled prophecy, worked the works of the father.
Then passage in Philippians carries the one of profoundest insights of our faith. We have an example of the character of one living the Christian faith, though loyalty and obedience.
If we are to have the benefits of His death and resurrection, we must resemble Him in this life.
Christian evolves around likemindness and lowly mindness.
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Since we have the mind of Christ, we have the attitude, the character of a man/woman of God.
We must be severe upon our own faults quick in observing our own defects, but ready to make allowances for others.
Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Today more than ever we need to hear the truth, and apply the truth of the word of God to our lives..
Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
Since you have been initiated by the Spirit into the life shared together with Christ, Then live in love, humility and service to one another.
Spirit of sacrifice: “I Can Die Better” When the Empress of Ireland went down with one hundred and thirty Salvation Army officers on board, one hundred and nine officers were drowned, and not one body that was picked up had on a life belt. The scripture spells out participles which defines Christian living;
a. Having the same love…no partiality (Nicodemus/women @ well
b. Being on one accord…(unity in the Spirit)
c. Of one mind..(same goals. values)
d. “nothing done trough selfish ambition or conceit”
2 Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
Proverbs 27:2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
e let each esteem others better than themselves, regard your brothers an sisters as more important than yourself
