In the Movie a wonderful life staring Jimmy Steward when his uncle misplaces the savings and loans deposit at the time the bank examermers are conducting the aduit, when the money cant be found and Geoge Baily cant raise the money he thinks it would have been better if he had never lived.
In comes the angel named Clarence to save Geogre ask he jumps off a bridge and the angle jups in after him. As they are drying off Geroge says it would be better if he had vever been alive.
The Angel gets the okay from the management and says okay you have nevre lived.
As he returnds to the town he first comes to hjis mother who is an bitter old mad who is mad at life.
Next he asks about uncle billy, and they said he went crazy years ago and was put in prison for stealing the saving and loans monty
Next, he stops his wife at the library, who is an unmarried spinster with no joy in his life.
Next he realised that the name of the town is now pottersville and the shops and buinesses on the main street have been replaced with strip joints, gambleing casions, there are lots of small loan loans and pawn shops, with an abundance of bail bonds man.
What happened, Geroge asked the angel? You were not here. Your life was connected to so many others and with out your positive influence the corupt money hunger antigonish Mr Potter had his way on shaping his nice town into a haven for sin, couption and immmorialty.
If jesus hadnt come nothiong in our world would be the same. I imagine our world would look something like Pottersville.
Or evn worse imagine if Hilter had won world war two and he and his thugs rueld the world. Threr would be terrior and every form of vilence and the hollacost would have been expaned to every counrty the Nazies invaded.
How about a world rulled by a more moden thug Sadum Hussain. He held the power of life and death, enjoyed the suffering of others especially at the hand sof his special police inflicting torger!
I bekieve you get the picture. No Christ, No Christmas, no holiday celbrations, no churchs, no carols, no famit gathers of grace and enjoyment and exchanging presents. No countries where liberty and justice is for all, no majority rule, no grace, no forgivness, no loving your neighbors, no second chances.
We can talk all evening about how terrile it is if our world was with out christ.
