Does anyone want to guess what’s under here? LET THEM ANSWER.
Let’s read some verses then I will show you. READ Prov. 4:24-27.
These verses tell us to do three things: Look where you want to go, think about where you want to go, walk where you want to go.
Alright. Let me show you what I have under this sheet.
A dartboard! I’m going to use this dart board to show you how important these verses are to our lives.
Ready?

1. Look Where You Want To Go v. 25

If I close my eyes, spin around, and throw this dart, do you think I will hit the target? ANSWER.
Should I try? ANSWER.
If I want to hit the target, I need to be looking at it.
What if I look at you guys and try to hit it? ANSWER.
I might hit, but I might not.
My best chance of hitting the target is to look at it!
This is true in our lives.
Why are you here at school? ANSWER. To learn.
Will you learn anything if all you ever think about is getting to recess so you can play? ANSWER.
Did you know this is also true when we trust Jesus as our Savior?
He has some things He wants us to do.
He wants us to grow. We do that by reading our Bible, praying, going to church, and spending time with other people who know Jesus.
Jesus also wants us to tell other people about Him.
If we don’t know Him, don’t read our Bible’s, it’s like throwing this dart while I’m not looking.
I won’t do a very good job.
If we want to know Jesus and be more like Him, we need to look at Him, focus on Him by reading our Bible’s, praying, and obeying the Bible.
When we do that we are looking where we want to go.
We also need to…

2. Think About Where You Want To Go v. 26

If I’m going to throw this dart, but I keep thinking about recess, or the piano, or daydreaming about what I want to do after school, I might miss the target.
If I want to hit the target, I have to think about hitting it!
I can’t just look at it; I have to pay attention to what I’m doing. Right? ANSWER.
Do any of you ever daydream when you are supposed to be doing your school work? ANSWER.
Do you get a lot of work done when you daydream? ANSWER.
Did you know sometimes we can day dream when we try to live how Jesus tells us to?
Jesus says we’re supposed to pray. But we start thinking about playing outside, or eating breakfast, or watching a movie. We can’t pray if we are thinking about something else.
Just like you can’t do your school when you’re thinking about something else and I can’t throw a dart straight if I’m thinking about something else.
If I want to be like Jesus, and do what He tells me to do, I have to think about Him.
So.
We need to look where we want to go, think about where we want to go.
The third thing these verses say is we need to…

3. Walk Where You Want To Go v. 27

If I want to throw this dart into the target, but I stand with my back to it, will I hit it? ANSWER.
What about if I stand behind it? ANSWER.
If I want to hit the target, I have to be facing it.
If I want to be like Jesus, and obey Him, I can’t get distracted.
What are some things that could distract us from thinking about Jesus and obeying Him? ANSWER.
If I want to hit the target, I have to throw the dart at the target!
I can’t hit it if I don’t throw it.
If you want to be like Jesus and obey Him, you need to do it.
We can look at Jesus and learn about Jesus and think about Jesus but if we never actually do anything, we won’t really be following Him will we? ANSWER
We need to look, think, and walk.
