Greater than the World

1 John 4:4

“…Because, greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Do we know for sure the greatness of the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives?

Are we convinced of His superiority and sovereignty over the Devil and all the forces of darkness?

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" (1 Peter 5:8, KJV)

The ways which Satan devours are numerous, and without restraint.

But the power of God through the presence of the Spirit within us is more so!

The Spirit is…

Greater over fear.

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7, KJV)

Greater over worry.

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (Philippians 4:6, KJV)

Greater over sorrow.

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope." (1 Thessalonians 4:13, KJV)

Greater over hatred.

"Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets." (Luke 6:22-23, KJV) Also see:

Greater over death.

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39, KJV)
