Lessons from the unjust steward.

Luke 16:10-12

Principals of Faithfulness

The Unjust Steward teaches a valuable lesson on the subject of faithfulness.

Of all people in this world, Christians should be the most faithful. If we are not, then there is obviously a problem at the root.

 The three principals of faithfulness:

I.                   A person who is unfaithful with a little will be unfaithful with much. And conversely a person who is faithful with a little will be the same with much Vs.10

– The late  Adrian Rogers said,  “A faith that hasn't been tested can't be trusted.”

A.    The affects of unfaithfulness.

1.      Relationships suffer from unfaithfulness.

Jacob & Esau

2.   Ethics are drawn through the mud because of infidelity.

3.   Health suffers from self-abuse.

B.     The Blessings of faithfulness.

"His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (Matthew 25:21, KJV)

II.                Faithfulness with spiritual responsibilities (true riches) is determined by the use of worldly goods. Vs.11

No one including God will give you those spiritual goodies when you’ve been steeling candy out of the jar!

Have you ever desired to experience answered prayer like that great prayer warrior, George Mueller?

How many godly biographies have you read wishing you could but get a glimpse of the miracles experienced by those giants of the faith?

There will be no miracles until your faithfulness has been proven in your everyday life.

III.             God will not entrust His precious fortune to an individual who will not be faithful with another’s possessions. Vs.12

Here we see the diabolical methods of Satan in the hearts of Christians. They easily cheat and steal from those God has put over them, and pray for God to bless them in their gain.

A.    Take care of other’s property.

B.     Mind the time of others.

C.     Don’t be a burden to others.

D.    Do good to all men, always.

“Freedom is not the right to do what we want, but what we ought”

-  Abraham Lincoln
