How many people know that prayer changes things? Prayer changes things. There is a living and all powerful God who answers prayer. Here is the arrangement; the God who created everything allows us to access Him as long as we would ask. We don’t simply recite words into the air. We don’t just speak words that fall on deaf ears. No, we talk to the God of all creation. And it pleases God to respond to our prayers. Prayer is open communication with God. You can call on Him at any time and he will hear. It doesn’t matter what time, he is always available. It don’t matter how busy he is, he can always handle one more situation. It don’t matter how late, He never sleeps nor slumbers. It don’t matter where you are, He is always present. It don’t matter how big, God is bigger. It doesn’t matter how sad, He’s always ready to comfort. It don’t matter how difficult, there ain’t nothing too hard for God. I just want you to know right now that prayer works. The Bible says, “The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availes much.” And through the years I have found the people who are found to be praying the hardest, and the most are Mothers. Church mothers. Play mothers. Birth Mothers. Step Mothers. Mentoring Mothers. Mothers. When mothers pray there is a special sense of selflessness. Because they only want the best for their child. (Preach on Mothers and Prayers)

pray specific get specific answer.
“O Lord of Host,
Give him to me, I will give him back to you.

2. She Poured out her Soul (v.12-16)

She spoke in her heart. She didn’t need to say anything for the Lord to hear her.
Its interesting to me that Eli sees here and assumes shes drunk.
She obviously doesn't care what anyone thinks about her conversation with God. She is unashamed about her desperation.
God hears your frustration.

3. She Praised until she Saw Samuel (v.17-20)

1, 2 Samuel (1) The Lord Opens Hannah’s Womb (1:1–20)

Hannah’s departure from the sanctuary area was an example of faith triumphant. Though she had approached the Lord in the depths of despondency, she left the sanctuary elevated and transformed. Hannah’s spiritual victory, won through the labor of tearful prayers, enabled her to eat the festival meal in peace and hope.

She came to the sanctuary sad, she left happy.
She came to shiloh upset, be she left alright.
She came to worship with anguish and left with joy
She came to the Lord frustrated and left in faith
The song writer said, “I came to Jesus as I was, I was weary, worn, and sad I found in Him a resting place And He has made, made me glad”
Church when you come to Jesus in sincerity, with a contrite spirit and broken heart you will not leave the same as when you got there. So I encourage you have a little talk with Jesus, Tell him all about you trouble,
v.(19) exegete
v. 20
Named him Samuel-Because I have asked him of the LORD. His name means the Lord has heard. Because every-time God answers prayer it ought to be a reminder to us that God hears and answers prayer.
