Luke 16:1-13
1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.
2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.
3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.
4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
5 So he called every one of his lord’s debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?
6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.
8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Jesus teaches us in most of his parables that Stewards will be held accountable by God. (Church folks tend to ignore that)

When One becomes a faithful Steward, you will not hear excuses, you will see action and results.
The area we give the most excuses about is the area we need the most improvement in your stewardship.
#4 Wisdom
8 So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.
9 “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.
8 “The master praised the dishonest manager for being so clever. Worldly people are more clever than spiritually-minded people when it comes to dealing with others.”
9 ⸤Jesus continued,⸥ “I’m telling you that although wealth is often used in dishonest ways, you should use it to make friends for yourselves. When life is over, you will be welcomed into an eternal home.
Worldly People Are More Clever Then Spiritual Minded People
6191. עָרֹם arom (791a); a prim. root; to be shrewd or crafty:—become shrewd(1), make shrewd(1), sensible(1), very cunning(1).

16 I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
Matthew (Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Disciples / 10:1–16 / 93)
10:16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.”
The disciples would go out with the message like sheep among wolves (the “wolves” were the enemies of the believers—in this context probably the Jewish religious leaders).
The solution? Be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. These words may have come from a local proverb. To be “shrewd as snakes” speaks of prudence or cleverness.
The Egyptian symbol of wisdom is a serpent, which has great skill in avoiding danger. They were also to be “innocent as doves,” that is, to be sincere and to have pure intentions. Shrewdness can become no more than cunning without the balance of innocence. However, innocence can become ignorance if not balanced with shrewdness. Jesus’ followers would need both to be prepared for the battles that lay ahead. They would need to be unafraid of conflict but also able to deal with it in integrity. Jesus warned them that the gospel would not be warmly welcomed in all places. At times there would be outright antagonism.
