Some of the themes that we have looked at this week are these:
Algunos de los temas que hemos examinado esta semana son los siguientes:
God created everything and in the beginning he declared it was good.
Dios creó todo y en el principio declaró que era bueno.
God is holy and cannot coexist with sin.
Dios es santo y no puede coexistir con el pecado.
Humans broke everything that God considered good when they chose to sin. We are all natural born sinners who fall short of the glory of God. Because we have sin, we are dead in our separation from God.
Los seres humanos quebrantaron todo lo que Dios consideraba bueno cuando eligieron pecar. Todos somos pecadores natos que estamos destituidos de la gloria de Dios. Porque tenemos pecado, estamos muertos en nuestra separación de Dios.

Jesus Came to Save the Lost
God sent Jesus to this world for one reason...
Dios envió a Jesús a este mundo por una razón...
10 For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.”
10 porque el Hijo del Hombre ha venido a buscar y a salvar lo que se había perdido».
God sent Jesus to provide us a way to forgiveness.
Dios envió a Jesús para proporcionarnos un camino hacia el perdón.
God knew that we could not fulfill the law and we could not straighten ourselves out enough to earn his favor.
Dios sabía que no podíamos cumplir la ley y que no podíamos enderezarnos lo suficiente como para ganarnos su favor.
But that’s the lie that we are told by this world.
Pero esa es la mentira que nos cuenta este mundo.
We are told that we are independent and free thinking individuals. We believe that we have the right to do whatever we want at whatever cost.
Se nos dice que somos individuos independientes y librepensadores. Creemos que tenemos derecho a hacer lo que queramos cueste lo que cueste.
We are told that we have enough good looks and talent that we can achieve anything that we want to achieve. We think that we can literally do anything that we set our minds to accomplish.
Nos dicen que tenemos suficiente atractivo y talento para conseguir todo lo que nos propongamos. Creemos que podemos hacer literalmente cualquier cosa que nos propongamos.
We are told that we don’t need God to make anything right. In fact, many of us treat God as if he is there to serve us and step up to our command by providing exactly what we demand of him.
Se nos dice que no necesitamos a Dios para hacer las cosas bien. De hecho, muchos de nosotros tratamos a Dios como si estuviera ahí para servirnos y ponerse a nuestras órdenes proporcionándonos exactamente lo que le exigimos.
We are told that God wants for us to be rich and happy, and if we don’t have those things, then it’s our fault for not having enough faith.
Se nos dice que Dios quiere que seamos ricos y felices, y si no tenemos esas cosas, es culpa nuestra por no tener suficiente fe.
These are all indicators that we are living under a false gospel, because the gospel of Jesus Christ does not teach any of those things.
Todos estos son indicadores de que estamos viviendo bajo un falso evangelio, porque el evangelio de Jesucristo no enseña ninguna de esas cosas.
Jesus gave up a lot to come to our world, so that he could be rejected, despised, betrayed, falsely accused, beaten, tortured, and murdered...
2 He grew up before him like a young plant and like a root out of dry ground. He didn’t have an impressive form or majesty that we should look at him, no appearance that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like someone people turned away from; he was despised, and we didn’t value him.
Jesús renunció a muchas cosas para venir a nuestro mundo, para ser rechazado, despreciado, traicionado, acusado falsamente, golpeado, torturado y asesinado...
2 Creció delante de Él como renuevo tierno, Como raíz de tierra seca. No tiene aspecto hermoso ni majestad Para que lo miremos, Ni apariencia para que lo deseemos. 3 Fue despreciado y desechado de los hombres, Varón de dolores y experimentado en aflicción; Y como uno de quien los hombres esconden el rostro, Fue despreciado, y no lo estimamos.
Before Jesus came to this world, he was royalty in heaven, a God, serving in the court of heaven. Yet he gave up everything to take on this lowly state in this world. We call this reduction of his status, “pouring out” or kenosis is the theological term.
Antes de venir a este mundo, Jesús era un rey en el cielo, un Dios que servía en la corte celestial. Sin embargo, renunció a todo para asumir este humilde estado en este mundo. Llamamos a esta reducción de su estatus, "derramamiento" o kenosis es el término teológico.
It’s like having a nice cup of lemonade or iced tea. Once I drink it, what do I have left behind? [a dirty cup]

Jesus came to pour himself out on the cross.
He gave up everything to become nothing.
Lo dejó todo para convertirse en nada.
He gave up deity to become a simple man.
Dejó la deidad para convertirse en un simple hombre.
He gave up his powerless to become powerless.
Dejó su impotencia para convertirse en impotente.
He gave up his perfect and sinless state to take on our sin
Dejó su estado perfecto y sin pecado para asumir el nuestro.`
… for the simple reason that he wanted for us to experience forgiveness and freedom in God.
...quería que experimentáramos el perdón y la libertad en Dios.
Without Jesus work that he completed on the cross—without forgiveness—we will continue in our hopeless condition.
Sin el trabajo de Jesús que él completó en la cruz-sin el perdón-continuaremos en nuestra condición sin esperanza.
However, with Jesus we can be saved and set right in the eyes of God. With his forgiveness, we can experience this salvation that Jesus bled and died for.
Sin embargo, con Jesús podemos ser salvados y enderezados a los ojos de Dios. Con su perdón, podemos experimentar esta salvación por la que Jesús sangró y murió.
But we are the only ones who can make the choice. What do you choose? Do you choose Jesus? Do you choose salvation? Do you choose to turn your back on your sin and accept the forgiveness that God is freely offering to you?
Pero somos los únicos que podemos elegir. ¿Qué eliges tú? ¿Eliges a Jesús? ¿Eliges la salvación? ¿Eliges darle la espalda a tu pecado y aceptar el perdón que Dios te ofrece gratuitamente?
