What is prey? Heavenly Father, we pray that you would Pour Out Among Us. Your blessed, Holy Spirit, The Blessed. Now both the speaking in the hearing of your word I'm in you may be seated. I meant you to grab the few Bible, that's near you in the fish. And turn to page 715 in your pube. I belong, Isaiah 42. We're going to be walking through the text of Isaiah 42 today, as we do a little of vision, check to see if your vision is up to today is all about a vision. We heard in Isaiah, Talk about at the fact that God had seen enough. And that he would no longer look favorably on the sin of God people in. It are Ephesians text. Today, we heard that God is says everything that's done in darkness will be exposed in the light. There's no hiding now. And then, of course, in the gospel, we have that great miracle of Jesus. One of my favorites are the healing of the man, born blind. mud and spit, he gives sight to the Blind and then those great words of Jesus, at the end, I am come that those who say they can see, Might lose their sight and those who are blind that they can see. We asked how is your vision? And we begin with chapter 42. The first one. Behold my servant. Whom I uphold mine. Chosen One in whom. My soul Delights. I have put my spirit upon him. He will bring forth Justice to the Nations. He will not cry, aloud or lift up his voice, or make it hurt in the street. A bruised Reed. He will not break, and a faintly burning Wick, he will not quench. He will Faithfully bring Justice. He will not grow faint, or be discouraged till he establishes Justice in the earth and the coastlands wait for his law. I love that section. Isaiah speaking words of Hope here to the people. Do you see my servant. God says, so my question to you today is do you see Jesus in this text? Eustis, Urban Desi speaks up here, the one who is coming the one in whom Gods, Soul, Delights. The one upon whom he's giving his spirit. The one who will come to help those in need. We also have to look at this text a bruised Reed. He will not break faintly burning Wick, he will not quench. He will Faithfully bring forth Justice in this text. As we look at that faintly burning Wick. And that trampled read, do you see yourself?

You see this God is come for you. Those of you who are just hanging up your life, he says I'm going to make sure that little flame of Hope is not snuffed out. I will restore life to you. Do you see yourself in this text for? This is a guy who was for you. But we also look ahead to verse 13 of our texts.

The Lord goes out like a mighty man, like I'm a war. He stirs up his heel, he cries out, he showed too loud. He shows himself Mighty against his foes. So do you see in this text a warrior one? Who comes to fight this gentle one, who comes this? We saw who comes to make sure that even the smoldering Wick is not put out in the bruised. Reed is held up. He also comes as a warrior. It comes as one with great power. Do you see in this text? A god of great Authority and power, who is also tender and kind

But the text goes on in verse 14. For a long time. I have held my peace. I have kept still and restrained myself. Now, I will cry out like a woman in labor. I will gasp and pant.

Now I will cry out like a woman in labor.

Been there. Heard that. I bet some of you have been there, heard that been there, done that.

This is that in volunteer. It's not planned. It's not scripted. Nobody has to tell a woman going into labor. At some point you might want to make some sounds. You might want to, I don't know. Shrink a little bit. Maybe grab your husband's hand and see if he can break his finger or something like that. You probably want to let out some emotion know. It, it just comes, it's just there. Nobody has to coach him. this is God, he says, I've had enough I've watched you, I waited I've been patient I've seen your sin over and over and over, I said profits, I sent warnings, I've been nice, I even promised to send the Savior who would not sniff up face, who would raise you up. I made all these promises. I keep watching. I keep waiting for something to happen. Enough already. Because I'm tired of waiting. I'm tired of watching. It says I have kept. For a long time, I have held my peace, it actually. In the Hebrew says, for an eternity forever, I have kept my peace. Certainly not for God's eternity. But for the people he speaking to for us today, for our eternity, he has kept his peace

he comes today and says, I've Had enough.

This sin that has crept into the world has taken the told. Today, of course we don't talk much about Sin. Many things that we used to talk about Ashton today. Wow, those are that's just the way people are. That's just the culture. It's just the way we do things. God says no nothing's changed. It's just, I've watched, I've seen, I've waited, I've been patient, sitting is alive, and well, and in your world. So do we see God's patience wearing thin? Do we see God's enough? In our texts.

And let's look at verse 19.

Who is blind but my servant. Or deaf as a messenger, who my send who is blind as my dedicated one or blind as the servant of the Lord. Now here, he changes. He's not talkin about that. Servant of the Lord who's going to come and heal. No, he's talking about us. He's talking about Sin.

He says this servant my chosen people. The servants to do my bidding.

It walked away from me. The blind. Deaf. Like, I know nothing.

This is the god of races. is The God Who declares himself the god of Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob, and the guy who walked with you, Isaiah would earlier remind the people. This is the god who brought you out of the Egypt. He rescued, you.

This is the god of creation.

Isaiah speaks of him. Often is the God, who put everything together.

and he says, you didn't list. everything I said to you, you just live like you can't see. Like you never heard what I said.

I remember, as a parent being frustrated, when I would tell my boys to do something And usually, I would get one of these.

Yeah. And then it didn't get done. It was as if I never talk to them cuz I didn't. I come in the room. Didn't I say to you? That you should do this. So, is that you? Yeah, that was me. I said that you should have done that. We've all been there. We've all been the one with selective hearing OG. I didn't hear you say that. I didn't see that sign for the speed limit on it. I don't know where that came from all, been that selective person. And God says enough. You've been blind. Look at verse 15. Not only has he had enough but here's what he's going to do. I will lay waste mountains and Hills. I will dry up the vegetation. I will turn the rivers into Islands. I will dry up the pool. I will lead the blind by a way. They do not know in pass. They have not known. I will guide them. Thank, you know, where you're going not anymore. I'm going to guide you. Here. He's talking to them and he says, you want captivity, fine. I will take you into captivity. I will take you to a place you don't want to go against your will and he did for 70 years.

And then at the end of the 70 years, his raft came, not on his people, but on his captives and those who took them captive, he destroyed them with his anger and his vengeance.

This is the god who comes to us.

but look at verse 16, Midway through I will turn the darkness before them into light. The rough places in to level ground. These are the things I do. I do not forsake.

Even in his anger and wrath. He says, but I

I still love you.

I'm still going to keep you safe.

I won't forsake you.

That's the savior. The bruised Reed that he's going to stand up. You're going to be okay. But you need to know. I don't like sin.

Do you see sin?

Let's turn to the next chapter. 43. Verse 1. But now thus says the Lord, he who created you? Oh Jacob. He who formed you always real fear. Not Fry Virginia. I have called you by name. You are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. Through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned. And the Flames will not consume you. Brian, the Lord your God, Holy One of Israel, your savior. I give Egypt as your Ransom cushion Sheba in exchange for you because you are precious. In my eyes.

Do you see Jesus?

From the midst of this God who loves us enough to care what we do?

The guy who says, you know, I see your sin. You're not getting it from me. I'm not stupid. I know what you've done.

I know, you know better.

I love you. Even in the midst of my anger and frustration. I won't forsake you.

The one who's been forsaken. says to us, I will not forsake, you

remember those words from the cross? I went a lot of them.

but the ones that stand out to me in this text, is when Jesus says to his father, My God. My God, why have you forsaken me?

Me. Why is it you forsaken me? You said, in Isaiah, I will never forsake you, I will guide you, even if you can't see, I will open the eyes of the blind so that you can see where you're going. I will leave you on level ground, even if it's a rough place. I will not forsake you

he said that to us,

and you can say that to us.

Because of Jesus.

Because he for sake, Jesus.

All of our sin. I said that Wells up in God till he can stand it no more and involuntarily he cries and shrieks out. All of that sin was placed upon Christ, In this holy season, we get this mixed blessing.

Seeing our sin more clearly perhaps that we've seen it before.

Which helps to see God's love more clearly than perhaps ever before. And in that love weed. See Jesus. Who meets us? Who comes to us today in his body of blood and says, I forgive you.

I want you to come to me. And find rest. I want you to come to me and find nourishment and strength. I give to you the best of me.

Because you are valued in my sight.

I give Egypt in as your Ransom cushion Sheba in exchange for you because you are precious in my sight. And honored. And I love you. Those are my words. Those are serious.

Amen. Animated.
