God created man in his image also put Adam in charge of the earth ..told him everything was his except one tree
Was called to fill the earth
The Fall of God’s people
Genesis
Genesis 3:1a (ESV)
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made.
He said to the woman,
The fall started with Satan..
Ezekiel 28:12b-15 (ESV)
Thus says the Lord God: “You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God;     every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God;     in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. 15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.
In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O guardian cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.17 Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground;  I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.18 By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade you profaned your sanctuaries; so I brought fire out from your midst; it consumed you, and I turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all who saw you. 19 All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; you have come to a dreadful end  and shall be no more forever.”
So satan has fallen.. somewhere around cReation
So what does he want?
To be God
Isaiah 14:13-14 (ESV)
13 You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’
He wants to Deceive you
Revelation 12:9 a (ESV)
9 And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world
Genesis 3:1b-3 (ESV)
He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
He wants to Control us (ESV)
Genesis 3:4-6(ESV)
4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
What did eve do wrong? Sin yes.
Rebelled against God’s commandment
Adam then rebelled
Acts 10:38 (ESV)
38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
What we read, listen to watch, the morals of the world
He wants to Destroy us
1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)
8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Genesis 3:7 (ESV)
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
Gave my wife a jeep for Christmas.. state farm..
So there is a great divide between God and man because he is holy and we are in rebellion
The result of this is
Genesis 3:16-19 (ESV)
16 To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband,     but he shall rule over you.”
17 And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you;in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; 18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you and you shall eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; or you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
Painful childbirth for women. Marital strife. The soil cursed. Introduction of thorns and thistles. Survival to be a struggle. Death introduced. Death will be the inescapable fate of all living things.
Isaiah 59:2 (ESV)
2 but your iniquities have made a separation     between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you     so that he does not hear.
Romans 3:23 (ESV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Now there will also be a hatred in the world…
Genesis 3:15 (ESV)
15 I will put enmity between you and the woman,     and between your offspring[a] and her offspring; he shall bruise your head,     and you shall bruise his heel.”
Hatred between God and satan
Satans offspring
1 John 3:8 (ESV)
8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
Eve offspring is eventually Jesus.
Galatians 4:4 (ESV)
4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,
What we see is what is known as the Proto-gospel..
I like the term First Gospel..
God give his promise.. a covenant.
He shall bruise your head is the final fatal blow to satan
Jesus defeated him on the cross!
There must be a redemption
Colossians 2:13-15 (ESV)
13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities[a] and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.[b]
Even in the midst of the curse, God’s gracious provision of salvation shines through.
Not only did God provide salvation but also provided for us in this world.
Care for God’s people
Genesis 3:21-24 (ESV)
21 And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.
This theme of God covering his people runs throughout Scripture:
In the Psalms, those who seek him are covered under his wings and hidden in the secret place of his tent (Psalm 91:1-4; 27:5). In Jeremiah, God hides the prophet from those who sought his life (Jeremiah 36:26). In Zechariah, he clothes the high priest in clean robes, even as Satan accuses him before God’s throne (Zechariah 3).
Les Parrot, a clinical psychologist, offers an explanation for how sympathy and empathy differ. Sympathy, he says, is standing on the shore and throwing a life ring to the person struggling in the ocean. Empathy is choosing to dive into the chilly, churning waves, putting oneself at risk, to personally deliver the drowning person to safety.
Romans 6:23 (ESV)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God has chosen to dive in and send his son to live by the law in the same circumstances we experience. His son was obedient all the way to the cross and defeated satan and when we choose to follow him we are no longer bound to our shame, our sin our separation from God but we are now When we believe in Him in a new covenant with Jesus!!!
