WELCOME:

Good morning and welcome to Oasis Church! I am so glad that you have joined us today.
Welcome to Oasis Church Moura and those watching online.
If you are visiting with us, we welcome you and look forward to chatting with you after our service.
Over the past couple of months we have been learning about: We are the church, not the buildings but us as a people. If you are born again, asked Jesus to come and live in your heart, then I am talking to you. You are the church! So today we will continue with this theme: “We are the church.”

LETS PRAY

Father we love You, and thank You, You are a good God. We thank You that You are here with us today. I pray that our minds with be alert and our hearts open to receive all that You have for us today. Bless Your people today in Jesus name. Amen
Wait for the promise
Last week Ps Rachel spoke about us being the beloved of God and A couple of weeks ago I spoke on: Embracing the New Normal. We looked at the disciples being obedient to what Jesus had told them, that they were to wait in Jerusalem for the gift of Holy Spirit.
The disciples were passionate and hungry for God to move in their lives.
Today as we continue with our theme: We are the church, our focus will be on: Being hungry for a move of God.
We see the disciple were hungry for God to move in their lives, they followed Jesus instructions and received the gift of Holy Spirit as promised.
Jesus died and rose again
Jesus spends time with disciples
tells them to wait for the Fathers gift (Holy Spirit)
40days later Jesus ascends to Heaven
It is another 10days later for the Day of Pentecost
The disciples didn’t know it was going to be 10days later
All were filled
Acts 2:1–4 NKJV
1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The Great Commission
Matthew 28:16–20 NKJV
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Remember Jesus had tort the disciples: Those who hunger and thirst for Righteousness - The Beatitudes
Matthew 5:1–12 NKJV
1 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
The question for us today is, are we hungry for God to move in your life? if so then what does that look like.
Salt and Light
Matthew 5:13–16 NKJV
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven
Matthew 18:18–20 NKJV
18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Are you hungry for God to move, or:

Do you feel like you are stuck?
Are you in need of a breakthrough in your life?
If we want to experience breakthrough in our lives,
We need to stir up our HUNGER for God.
2 Samuel 5:17–20 NKJV
17 Now when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. And David heard of it and went down to the stronghold. 18 The Philistines also went and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim. 19 So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand.” 20 So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.
When David and his men were surrounded by the enemies, they looked to the Lord, and God responded by saying,
(“I am the Lord of the breakthrough!”)
Do you need a breakthrough?
are you bored,
have no joy,
no peace,
no passion for Jesus,
no vision or direction for your life,
no excitement in your spirit.
You’re not experiencing the abundant life that Jesus died to bring you.
You might need a breakthrough in your emotional state, health, finances, relationships…
The first thing we need to do is remind ourselves of our first love, what Jesus did on the cross. He set is free!
HUNGER:
Revelation 2:4–5 NKJV
4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
Genesis 32:24–26 NKJV
24 Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. 25 Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. 26 And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”
Jacob persevered in prayer, and God responded to him by giving him a new life, new nature, and a new name. No longer was he going to be Jacob, the deceiver, but he would now be Israel, Prince with God.
Sons of Korah: “As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?” (Psalm 42:1-2).
See the hunger here! The sons of Korah said that they were as hungry for God’s presence as the hunted deer longs to plunge into the cool, refreshing streams of water.
Psalm 63:1–2 NKJV
1 O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. 2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.
David was a man after God’s own heart, and He was hungry to know God.
When David went to church, he wasn’t content to just sing songs about God, or hear stories about Him, but he wanted to encounter Him personally in His power and glory.
Blint Bart:
Mark 10:46–52 NKJV
46 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” 50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. 51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” 52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
Here was a man who was hungry for a touch from Jesus. He refused to be silenced by the crowd! Because of his perseverance in prayer, he received his breakthrough.
We need to stir up our hunger if we want to experience a supernatural breakthrough!
We’ve been invited to have a personal relationship with Jesus – don’t take it for granted!
How do we stir up our hunger? Pray. Fast. Get into the Word.
If we will fast (food, media, whatever), it will help stir up our hunger for more of God.
Altar call – Prayer!
