   Our patience will achieve more than all our force.  Think of it…the strongest man of all seemed to be the weakest when he didn’t tap the source of his strength.  Sampson was able to slay hundreds of the enemies of God and wild animals with his bare hands, but when he deserted the Lord his God, he fell at the hands of a petite woman.

   There’s another strongman in the New Testament.  When he tapped the source of his power, he was able to break chains and no one dare come against him.  They banished him to the tombs because he was so brutal.  But when Jesus took away the source of his power, he returned from a mad state to a sensible person again.

   Who’s the source of your force?  Sadly, our “force” often stems from an all too familiar demon…the demon of anger.  Anger has destroyed many a friend, spouse, or family.  When we display unbridled anger, we are actually at our weakest point.  Anger may kill and destroy, but its not strength of character…its actually the opposite. 

   Proverbs says, “He that is slow to anger is greater than the mighty, and he that is able to rule his spirit is greater than he that takes a city.” 

   We may appear strong on the outside, but the weakest of all men are ones that vent their anger with no restraint.  Without control of our spirit we can make others suffer by how we treat them.

   Let’s look at another strong man.  Scripture says to consider the example of Jesus who endured abuse and hostility of sinners so that you won’t become weary and faint.  Next time you feel the anger thermometer rising…look to Jesus for control.

   Anger destroys even wise men.  He who cools his anger is a healer of his own soul. Job 17:9 tells us a righteous man has clean hands and shall become stronger and stronger.  I pray you are gaining in strength every day…cool tempered one.  May your character be pumped as iron…and your anger as cool as a mountain stream.
