THE GIFT OF A SACRIFICE
* *
     A businessman and a lawyer were vacationing in Korea and took a tour through the countryside with a *missionary* as their guide.
In a field by the road they saw something that caught their attention.
They saw a *boy pulling a plow* while an *old man held the handles* and directed it through the rice paddy.
The lawyer took a picture of the scene and said, /“That’s remarkable!
I suppose they are poor.”/
The missionary said, */“/*/Yes they are.
That is the family of Chi Noui.
When the church was built they were eager to give something to it, but they had no money…*so they* *sold the only ox they had and gave the money to the church.
This spring they are pulling the plow themselves.*”/
The lawyer and the businessman were silent for several seconds.
Then the businessman said he thought that was a real sacrifice.
The missionary replied, *“They didn’t call it that…they thought it was fortunate that they had an ox to sell.”*
It’s rarely you hear of true sacrifices these days.
We are so wrapped up in making our lives comfortable that it seems this story is hundreds of years old…but it isn’t.
*I am humbled that those who have little see the things of real value a lot clearer than those of us who have plenty.
THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN TOUCHES FAR MORE THAN WE COULD ALONE.
INVESTING IN HEAVEN’S MISSION HAS ETERNAL VALUE!!*
