INTRODUCTION:

 

If you could have anything in life, what would you choose?

A songwriter wrote:

“I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold,

I’d rather have him than have riches untold;

I’d rather have Jesus than houses or lands,

I’d rather be led by his nail-pierced hands.

With this songwriter, I’d say, “Give Me Jesus!”

*HIS FAITHFULNESS (V.1)

A.    We are called to consider his faithfulness.

A.    His work is testified in His name (v.1).

a)      Matthew 1:21 (KJV) “ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUSc : for he shall save his people from their sins .

/3.      /His work was to be the only anointed Savior of mankind.

B.     His work is to be our heavenly Apostle and High Priest (v.1).

/2.      /High Priest = ἀρχιερεύς* = *Used of Christ because by undergoing a bloody death he offered himself as an expiatory sacrifice to God, and has entered into the heavenly sanctuary where he continually intercedes on our behalf.
