James 1:1–4 ESV
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion: Greetings. Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
“That you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing”
My be perfect —
My Faith is Transforming.... It’s progressing into
My faith conforming or lining up with God’s word.
The goal is for me to “lack in nothing.”
The process
In the process there is a key ingredient…
As steadfastness is having its full effect…
Situations will cause me to be stuck…

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Command #3 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God”
Wisdom is the key ingredient…
wisdom (trait) n. — the trait of utilizing knowledge and experience with common sense and insight.
Knowledge + Experience + Common sense + Insight
Trait: distinguishing quality or characteristic, typically one belonging to a person.
God gives this trait generously to all without reproach!
to reproach v. — to express criticism towards.
