WE AS PEOPLE ARE GOOD AT UNDERESTIMATING THINGS
THINGS WE UNDERESTIMATE
UNDERESTIMATE POWER – The power of sin & the power of God
MESSAGE TITLE: Never Underestimate Jesus
PRAYER
UNDERESTIMATE SIN – LIE’S PEOPLE BELIEVE
Adam & Eve underestimate sin – did something they thought was small - changed the entire course of human history
Cain gave in to sins power when he got angry and killed his brother
SIN COMES IN MANY FORMS
Sexual immorality, adultery, murder, robbery, Lies, anger, jealousy, filling the stomach a bit too much, overly adorning the body
selfish ambition, pride, being self-centred, even unbelief.
TO GOD ALL SIN IS SIN
‘For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it’ (James 2: 10).
PEOPLE RATIONALIZE SIN AWAY
The root of all sin is autonomy and replacement of God with self.
LEGAL STANDING
SIN IS SO SERIOUS THAT GOD PAYS PEOPLE FOR IT IN DEATH
THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH: Death is the wages for our sin – Romans 6:23
The payment for sin is death / People without Jesus we are on death row

What mental image do you have when you picture Jesus?
Jesus is compassionate, tender BUT there’s a side of Jesus that we don’t tend to have portrayed to us very much – His power

EASTER STORY – GOD’S POWER
Luke 24: 1-8 (NLT)
24 But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. 3 So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.
5 The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, 7 that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day.”
SUNDAY IS HERE!!!!!
ON GOOD FRIDAY WE REMEMBER THE CROSS – A lot can happen in 3 days
3 Days ago it was Friday but Sunday was on the way!
A LOT CAN HAPPEN IN 3 DAYS – NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF JESUS

SUNDAY IS HERE BUT THERE IS NO EASTER SUNDAY WITHOUT CALVARY FRIDAY
The sky drew dark / The Earth began to shake / Jesus calls out, Father, Father, why have you forsaken me / The veil was torn in the temple / Jesus is hanging on the cross / Jesus is dying a hideous death on the cross
Satan think he’s won: That Jesus is defeated. He thinks the battle was won on Friday.
WHEN HE DIED ON THE CROSS HE WAS A LAMB
3 DAYS LATER WHEN HE STEPPED OUT OF THAT TOMB HE WAS NO LONGER THE LAMB
HIS RESURRECTION POWER WAS ROARING!!!!!
JESUS HAS CONQUERED HELL
FOR THOSE WHO PUT THEIR TRUST IN JESUS:
He has taken your sin – you are forgiven – you are a child of the most high God
STORY – Having parking tickets - JESUS PAID THE FINE
Micah 7:19
Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!

He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.

SOME STOP AT SUNDAY – Jesus was raised from the dead
THE FULL CHRISTIAN MESSAGE IS: Christmas / Good Friday / Easter Sunday & Jesus is Coming Again
IT’S SUNDAY AND JESUS IS COMING AGAIN
The trumpet is going to sound / The gave isn’t going to hold of bodies down
In the twinkling of an eye, we will be called up together to meet the Lord in the air
WE ARE GOING TO A PLACE WHERE THERE IS:
No more death, no more crying, no more pain
HE IS COMING BACK FOR HIS BRIDE – FOR HIS CHURCH
He coming church – he is coming back for his bride
JESUS LOVES HIS CHURCH / JESUS CARES FOR HIS CHURCH / JESUS FEEDS HIS CHURCH
THE CHURCH IS HIS BRIDE / JESUS PROTECTS HIS CHURCH / JESUS BUILDS HIS CHURCH
JESUS AND THE CHURCH ARE ONE / JESUS IS COMMITTED TO HIS CHURCH
JESUS IS COMING BACK FOR HIS CHURCH
TELL SOMEONE – He did it for you! He did it for me!
EASTER ISN’T JUST ABOUT THAT HE HAS FORGIVEN YOU
He has called you his son and his daughter
To rise to live a victorious life
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE YOU FROM THE LOVE OF GOD
WE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE / WE DON’T FEAR DEATH / WE HAVE NEW LIFE
YOU HAVE THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
GRAVES OF THE ENEMY
The grave of shame / the grave of failure / the grave of addiction
There is no grave that can hold you
Resurrection power is inside of you
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF JESUS
GOD LOVES YOU / HE IS FOR YOU INVITE TEAM
