The Apostle John wrote a fatherly letter to an early church, hoping to visit them soon, but writing about things that couldn't wait. He affirms them by expressing great joy that they are walking in the truth and praciticing what they believe. He exhorts them to love one another according to what the Lord has commanded. Finally, he warns them to avoid those who don't abide by the true teaching of Christ alone.
