Reading the Bible For All Its Worth

2 Timothy 3:16-17 – Romans 15:4-5 – 2 Timothy 2:14-15

Deuteronomy 4:1-2

To read the Bible Literally is to grasp its meaning to the ORIGINAL hearers of its message. God speaks in the many forms of human communication like historical prose, metaphors, similes, hyperbole, poetry, and Apocalyptic language. He always means what he says in the way he said it.

1 Corinthians 2:7-16

The Holy Spirit never goes beyond the Word of God. Through faith, he helps us to understand the Gifts that God bestows on us. He will not give us new or different revelation. He never contradicts what he has written. He illuminates it by changing our hearts helping us to become spiritual.

Luke 20:37-38

The Rules of grammar apply to the Scripture just like any other book ancient or modern. God is a great communicator and Jesus taught us to understand truth through the normal rules of grammar. he wants you to understand his meaning. He will not make exceptions for pet concepts.

1 Peter 1:10-12

Biblical history helps us to understand what the writers mean. The prophets had not experienced the history of Christ’s sacrifice and therefore were searching and inquiring into this mystery. Now we have it fulfilled, clearly seen, and blessing flow from it. (Ephesians 1:9-10)

Romans 5:14 and Hebrews 8:5

An inspired type is only a Biblical type because the New or Old Testament designates it so as in the cause of Adam or the Jerusalem Temple. Types, antitypes, etc are meant to give you an earthly picture of eternal and spiritual truth.

Isaiah 28:9-17

The Sum of the parts of the Bible make up the whole of its truth .
