Five Great Ways to Be Thankful--Psalm 100:1-5
16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
A psalm. For giving thanks. Psalms 100:1a
1. The FIRST Great Way is That I Am to [express] My Joy.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Vs 1b
23My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I, whom you have redeemed. 24My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion. Psalm 71:23-24
2. The SECOND Great Way is That I Am to [worship] with Gladness.
Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Vs 2
18But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. 19I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more. Isaiah 65:18-19
3. The THIRD Great Way is That I Am to [know] The Lord Is God.
Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Vs. 3
28Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. Isaiah 40:28
4. The FOURTH Great Way is That I Am to [enter] His Gate with Gratitude.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. Vs. 4
13“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14
5. The FIFTH Great Way is That I Am to [trust] God’s Character.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Vs. 5
6For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Galatians 5:6
