11 One day, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his people and looked on their burdens, and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his people. 12 He looked this way and that, and seeing no one, he struck down the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 When he went out the next day, behold, two Hebrews were struggling together. And he said to the man in the wrong, “Why do you strike your companion?” 14 He answered, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid, and thought, “Surely the thing is known.” 15 When Pharaoh heard of it, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh and stayed in the land of Midian. And he sat down by a well.

24 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.
Choosing to be mistreated than sin
Continuing his ID with Egypt would be Sin because it would have kept him from Identifying with God people

How we view ourselves determines what we look for and how we respond. At some point what your parents though doesn’t determine who you are. You do.

What we need our identity to be is a Child of God and sibling of Christ
Moses was built for the kingdom of God and so are you. His concern for the vulnerable was natural to him, but he had to learn to follow God and be willing to do it in front of everyone.
Like Moses you and I can learn to have faith in Jesus as the most important aspect of your life.
Our reward is not in the acceptance of other but the acceptance of God - who already loves you.
Him who is invisible
1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Faith is participation in the redemption story.
