You guys go ahead and have a seat for me. Byefore we get to our more traditional announcements, I’d like to inform you of an addition to our cbcKids team!
Psalm 78:1-4 “ We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.”
Here at CBC we knew that investing in the next generation would be key to the successful stewardship of this church in this community. Which is why from day 1 we launched a full-fledge kids ministry program serving kids aged 6 weeks— 5th grade. We might have been a little ambitious..., but that decision was driven by a deep burden to tell the coming generation of the deeds of our God.
But to pull that feat off it required countless unseen hours, volunteers, decisions and prayer. But on day 1, we served and loved 92 kids on launch sunday. Today that number averages 135, and given the number of infants in this sanctuary in both services we don’t see that slowing down anytime soon.
But this morning I want to specifically recognize Jeannen Fields. Jeannen would you stand up real quick?
Back in May of 2021, we had a launch leadership team that would meet monthly for prayer, and one of the things we prayed for most consistently was God’s choice for our cbcKids director. Through that season of prayer, God began to burden Jeannen to lead the charge. She committed to that position from August to January, but quickly rolled over to April. Now, she could never have done this alone, so I want to recognize a few more:
Alex Reid, Victoria Bryarly Lindsay Barr, and Carlyn Longgrear would you stand up if you’re in the room?
Now, if you’re a teacher or have served in any capacity in cbcKids would you stand up?
These people have served their hearts out in various capacities, and I just want to acknowledge them for a second. Could you give them a round of applause?
Now, they aren’t going anywhere… praise God. However, in January I was approached by a new couple in our church. They looked eager to talk, but also a little timid. She proceeded to tell me that she had served as a Family Life Director, overseeing kids and students, at her previous church for 13 years. His new job moved them down this way, and by God’s grace they found our church.
So let me introduce you to Dave and Jennifer Daniel. Would you guys come on up for me?
Jennifer has officially accepted the position of cbcKids Director, and Jeannen will continue to serve as our Assistant Director. Jeannen and Jeff, why don’t you guys come on up as well.
Jennifer is responsible for providing direction, vision, and training to this amazing ministry and Jeannen will focus on Sunday execution.
So, if you’re a parent in the room please make an effort to introduce yourself to Dave and Jennifer today as well as thank Jeannen and Jeff. They are going to linger in the lobby after the service and would love to meet you!
Now, would you join me in prayer for these amazing servants and this incredible ministry.
