Read Romans 15 20-33 Before leading into the message
Romans 15:20 LSB
20 And in this way I make it my ambition to proclaim the gospel, not where Christ was already named, so that I would not build on another man’s foundation;

Romans 15:21 LSB
21 but as it is written, “THEY WHO HAD NO DECLARATION OF HIM SHALL SEE, AND THEY WHO HAVE NOT HEARD SHALL UNDERSTAND.”
Romans 15:23–24 LSB
23 but now, with no further place for me in these regions, and since I have had for many years a longing to come to you 24 whenever I go to Spain—for I hope, passing through, to see you, and to be helped on my way there by you, when I have first enjoyed your company for a while.
Romans 15:25–27 LSB
25 But now I am going to Jerusalem to serve the saints. 26 For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to share with the poor among the saints in Jerusalem. 27 Yes, they were pleased to do so, and they are indebted to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are indebted to minister to them also in material things.
Paul never lost his fervor for the established churches. He cared deeply that they continue in the faith as lights shining in a dark world.
We too must not lose our passion for the local church and the gathering of the saints of God to glorify our heavenly Father.
We cannot lose our fervor for preaching the gospel amongst our own community. God let us see growth and numbers added to the fellowship of Christ!
So, what can we do to enhance our presence as Christians in our community?
Be involved in church and government.
The three institutions which God established in this world are the home, human government, and the church. In the last days, all three of these institutions will oppose the truth instead of promote it.
Warren W. Wiersbe
Sign petitions. It matters.
Dream beyond that to actually holding positions of leadership in our local government.
The care of human life and happiness and not their destruction is the first and only legitimate object of good government.
Thomas Jefferson
Proverbs 28:12 NIV
12 When the righteous triumph, there is great elation; but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding.
The church is trying to impose its agenda on the state.” However, the primary reason that government exists is to protect, maintain, and support human life. When the church complains about the abortion laws in America, the church is not asking the state to be the church. The church is asking the state to be the state. It is simply asking the state to do its God-ordained job.
R. C. Sproul
The first responsibility of government is to preserve, to maintain and to promote human life.
Proverbs 29:2 LSB
2 When the righteous increase, the people are glad, But when a wicked man rules, people groan.
The sovereignty of God does not set aside human responsibility.
Robert H. Mounce

It is most needful for all servants of Christ to remember that whenever the Lord places a man in a position of responsibility, He will both fit him for it and maintain him in it.
