Romans 12-The Sons of God & The Father's House-2

Today we are going to turn our attention. To The Father's Heart last week, we talked about our father's house. Today, we're going to turn our attention to the Father's Heart. You would open your Bibles once again the Romans 12 Romans 12, and we're going to open by reading the second part of the chapter. Romans 12 verse 9 through verse 21 and you're going to see some incredible tidbits of wisdom that may at first glance seem almost. Like they're they're not related to each other in some cases. When you walk through them and you relate, each of them to birth 9. To begin to understand they are going together. They are a single woman. Romans 12:9 says. Let love be without dissimulation. For that, which is evil weed for that, which is good because the affection one to another with Brotherly. Love in one another, not slothful in business in spirit, serving the lord rejoicing and patient in Tribulation continuing, instant in prayer Distributing to the necessity of Saint. Given the hospitality you bless and curse not rejoice with them that rejoice and weep with them that we Be of the same mind, one foot another, why not hide things? But condescend to Men of low estate, be not wise in your own recompense to no man, evil for evil to buy things. Honest inside of all men. If it be possible as much as why I can you live peaceably with all men? The only beloved avenge not yourselves but rather give Place unto wrath for it is written. Vengeance is mine? I will repay saith the Lord. Therefore, if thine enemy hunger. Baby girls giving drink for in so doing the fire when I said be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

You know, in our world, our recipe tends to the opposite of that overcome evil with evil.

I can't do diet. Every time I read, Romans 12 and I get to the second part, I have one of two experiences. One is I skim over it as fast as I can and chapter 13. The other is I get called out by God. Over and over again by read these words. So, we're talking today about we are the sons of God. We Are The Joint heirs with Christ. We are the sons and daughters of the Living God. And what does it mean? To be as children. What does it mean that he is our father last week? We started out the father's house this week. We're going to talk about the father's part. We are studying Roman Romans is the book about being separated unto the gospel of God. It begins in the opening chapters subject of the condemnation of the sons of Adam all are sinners are condemned the bull and price came not to condemn Center, but to do what Justification by faith in the Son of God is the second section of the book. We learned that even Jesus Christ makes us just Jesus Christ changes our, if you will Legal position in the 4 to 7, so that we, who were guilty. Now, stand uncondemned just in the eyes of Heaven righteous before a holy God. The third part, the center of the book is on sanctification, chapter 6, and 7 Seconds, acacian by Grace from God. Makes us holy ones. God makes sense. It doesn't make any sense to me. That a sinner can be a saint but that's what God Said in. So I believe it. The last section that we looked at was for what is God's plan for us? And for his Chosen People Israel in the years, decades, centuries in an eternity to count Glorification through the Holy Spirit. God wants to share his glory and let us be as glorious as he is by reflecting and nnn the resonating. His glory back to you. Today we are studying concentration in the body of Christ. We began two weeks ago in Romans, 12. Verses 1 2 and 3. We talked about what it means to be consecrated to be set apart. Holy things to be made Gods alone and at that, consecration process is a practical. That is to say that. Some people gation is about a position that we have with Jesus Christ in heaven. Sanctification is news about what God says about us and consecration is about. Making it true. Sometimes consecration is referred to as a practical, sanctification as opposed to I m just and righteous in the Son of God because I am in Christ in Christ. That is my position. Practically speaking. God has made me a holy one but I'm not one. Who is Hope. So in the body of Christ in and through a local assembly in and through a church, we become more like I never underestimate the magnitude of the ministry of a fellowship. Right. We get better together. Or we drag each other. Now, Right. Some of you may experience, what it's like to be in a healthy Church.

I want tell you at churches or a body much, right? The human body. And that's why God use the illustration of the body to describe them. Sometimes body, or sit, sometimes bodies get disease. Usually, that means that one or two things that happen. Either sin has gotten in. In the form of pride. In the form of jealousy in the form of rebellion. Uncooperative spirit. or if it's not send, In the moral sense. That is it's terribly. We've allowed what God tells us the truth to become distorted and what we're saying sounds like but on closer inspection. It's not, it's not all truth, it's not the whole of God's truth. You put either immorality or inaccuracy or heresy, in the body of Christ is going to become ill. It's going to become sit. As we study consecration of the sons of God in the body of Christ, you have so far, looked at the sons of God, of the father's house. And part two of that is, if we are the children of God, we should be reflected my father's heart to the world around later on, we're going to study the sons of God. Sons of men personal Destiny and the sons of God, thanks. But right now we're in a church, the body of Christ, The House of the Living, God, pillar and ground of the truth, as living stones. Bible says, brought together by the holy spirit that together, we might be a temple for the Holy Spirit to inhabit. What is it like from trying to live in our father's house in a neighborhood? That is right?

Romans 12. Verse 9. Here's a good start. Let love be without stimulation of core that which is evil please to that, which is good life simulation. Fortunately, I know that you are a well-educated group with rate, vocabulary and much, the last disc in your daily conversation, you probably use the word dissimulation.

Its disbelief. An hour or two. But not a bit of it is who you really are. Not your name.

It's not your job. Those aren't your clothes. The whole thing. Is a simulation. An illusion.

Let love be on simulator. Let love not be a part that you're playing. Let love be real. Let It Be genuine. Don't let love be something. Just do, Let It Be Someone That You Are. That doesn't make any sense. God is love. And if he is my father, If this character and nature can be described this way. God is love. Then I should have been the parotid. That's right. When I was born again of the spirit of God and the Holy Spirit of God, animated my relationship with the father and the son, bringing my spirit into relationship and fellowship. Again, with God, the Father God, the son, God the holy spirit in this incredible miraculous way through race, because Jesus died for me, when I was born again, I was born of the will of his own family as his own child, and just as there are still best images of the nature I inherited from my father. Adam, the first man. Who ruins everything.

I also should see. Reflection of my Father in heaven in who I am. And that begins here. The ultimate Cornerstone of who got it. God is love.

God is what don't play it. Now I know. It sounds almost, right? Well, of course I shouldn't play it loving people. I should love people for real. Why would he ask you something? Do you? It's easier to act Wellington than it. Is to love Jenny. Right. I need I will say this. Going through, the motions is not in and of itself a bad thing, right? Just because you don't feel loving for someone doesn't mean you shouldn't be, right? Sometimes I think that we confuse being genuine with being moral, I genuinely might want to punch you in the face. It is not moral for me to punch you in the face. Right? I genuinely might want to run you over with a car in a moment of anger. Sometimes the moment might last a couple of moment. But it's not moral for me to buy a car.

I genuinely might want to see how much money you have in your wallet take out, but I'm not the government.

It's not moral for me to take after.

Because you think you're the most unlovable person you've ever met, but that's not true because you met me. I am not as easy to love that, you might think. You think I'm lovable because you just don't know me very well.

The reality is. When God got a hold of me. You got me early? And knowing myself as well as I do.

Terrified to think of who I would have grown up to become. If God hadn't gotten birthday.

Because just seeing just seeing the beginnings of where I was going, frightens me. Anybody else? God love me, even though I was unlovable, you love me so much.

That he sent his only son. God manifest in human form.

Climb up to a mountain. And spread his arms up as far as wide as they would go. To say, I love you this much. And then he took Nails in his hands and feet and died.

That's how much God loves me, but God's love wasn't done.

He also sent someone to get.

You remember the person got sent to get you? The one who share Jesus with you. Perhaps, it was more than one, but it's a session of ones. God sent to get you before you got around to get.

And when God,

When God saved me, I was at. Every time I want to use the phrase went. Found me. Like I remember the story and I don't know where, I don't know where it happens. I only know that I heard it years ago about a little boy who was injured, who was acting really? Really like ants being excited when he was in a Revival and there was a preacher was preaching about Jesus, preaching about God, and seeing about having you tell me about, right and wrong, and sin, and forgiveness, and a boy was just really amped up about it. And as they began to ask if anyone wanted to, except Jesus, A man behind him was shall we say wisdom? You know more gray hair than not tapped him on the shoulder and said, young man, have you found the Lord? The boy looked up at him and said, no. Sir, I didn't know. He was wrong.

but I was, you said, And he found me.

Yeah. You know, in a very real sense. God doesn't have to find you. He always knows right where you are.

But you know what, I find interesting and sometimes I know this, this is an expression that gets really over. Use it. Same as someone misuses in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, but sometimes the issue was to find ourselves, right? We need to get to the bottom of our barrel with Lane until the only thing left is of Europe. How many of you remember? The story of The Prodigal? Son? Famous story, Jesus soul. A young man with Big Dreams, Big Ideas, not enough. Humility. Goes to his father and says, can I have my inheritance now? Which doesn't sound quite as bad as Mike wasn't actually saying what you hurry up and die. He was just saying, like, whatever your estate is right now. I'm entitled to certain percentage of it. Basically, I'm entitled to one third of this because he had two sons and the Elder son was to receive a double portion running a Jewish law, and tradition. So he said, dad would you be? So kind as to give me a third of what you have to go do what I want and then the rest of what you have and whatever you build it for you. Die in a while the wrong by older brother, I'm going to go show the world that I know how to do this. And his father, I don't know what he was thinking. Honestly, as a father of grandsons, I would never have said yes to this stupid idea. I would have said, I think you're going to wait till I'm dead and hopefully by then you'll have a few things, right? But he agreed to it.

And Jesus said, you went out and you wasted his money, his father's money really, is he wasn't dead. So it really wasn't that kids money wasted, his father's money on riotous living. I wasted money on pietist Riders, Livengood me and, you know, Ron Krause in parties drugs while people could also just me living it up in your own special way, for some people that might be you like to eat a lot. They'll be just a fat guy in the skinny body and Audi, most of my larger friends. But you know what? Whatever riotous living mind. There's a problem with it. Send. Will always take you further than you thought you go, keep you longer. then you thought you'd say, And cost you far more than you were willing to pay.

It got to a point where he ran out of money. and then, I didn't Jesus implies that he ran out of friends. because the word of God says, They reached a point where no man gave unto you.

No man gave unto death. You know, like when people are just done, you been done right? You never have that person. Like you said that, prodigal son. He was that guy in Texas.

The people that he spent all of his money. Riotously living where they were nowhere to be found. The people who loved him. We're far away in another country. So what did he do? He went and got a job on a pig farm. I want you to stop and think about the irony of this. She's Jewish. He left Israel. And the only job he could find was on a pig farm.

Israelites, don't keep pigs. You know why what good is a pig other than to eat, right? You don't milk them. They don't pull your part. They don't pull your plow. A pig has only one beautiful function. Right there, made out of pork.

Yeah, they are these rap. Yeah, they're garbage disposal, right? But So, he can't eat.

And he doesn't like to even be around 4. It is so socially and culturally foreign, they know, right?

And he's so hungry. He was ready to eat with a pig's work. It now my grandfather on my mother's side was a big part. They throw to the Hogs makes you rethink the next bacon. Cheeseburger is, you know what went in there

The only problem is not even a hog.

His family was nowhere to be found. His friends were all gone. His employer was willing to let him eat pig slop. And yes, what even the pigs? I didn't say too many leftovers. So, he was hungry. and then Jesus said those Immortal words, they have the power to end or begin your life.

and when he came to him self,

Good morning, Dad. Dad always did like, my brother. I was just the runt of the litter. I see young go on. Nobody cares about the young woman.

By the way later in the story Pirates older brother was like he was always the fair-haired boy, he was always 80. You got spoiled working today. Take care of this ridiculous manage the servants. You know, I never even get to have a party with my friends.

Funny thing about jealousy, right? Two people can be jealous of each other. Just because wanting what the other guy has a teacher math. Unfortunate. Side effects consequence. Adam choosing send.

but when he came to himself, he said this, what I do I will rise back to my father's house. This is what I will say. I can almost see him the speech, all the way back in trouble with your mom or your dad or pain employer, or, you know, somebody and you were like house and your life. You're like, rehearsing your speech all day long day after day until you get back.

Dad, I want you to know.

I have sinned against God and against you. I no more worthy to be called your son. Would you just give me a job and let me be as one of your hired servants? So, I can at least live in the servants quarters at home.

what's funny about that is, never got to make,

You got as far as I have sinned against God and see you and his father, cut him off.

So, I needed to hear.

Because this father is an illustration of the Heavenly Father's. Love For Me, Right? That's enough. I don't need to hear the rest. You've acknowledged that, you know, you sent, I'll take it from here. That's what God, do you remember what he did? He gave him three things and every one of them is symbolic. He gave him a row. He said, get these filthy pig smell in rags. Off of my son and get him. Get them the road. Douglas son of my house is there. Not because of what he's done. but because of who's he is, he's my son, get him a robe. You know, most of the servants. Like can we give him a bath first?

And then he said and give him a ring for his finger. Divers ring.

It has a g on it.

My great-grandmother had this ring made from her wedding ring and her engagement ring. For my grandfather, My Name, Say the original Gerald Earl coming.

It's a Signet ring. Has the symbol of my name. And the giving of a ring, there's a lot being set when a man gives a woman a ring. He is saying with this ring comes my in my name is the most valuable thing I have I can replace the money. I can replace the houses, I can replace the, the, the industry's I get a new Farm. I can't get a new Maine. My father gave it to me and I will give it to my son.

And if you'll take this ring, give it to you too. He said, bring my son.

Put it on his thing. That all the world may know. This is my son has come home. You should give me a shoes. We probably have something on his feet. He probably wasn't there for you just to walk from whatever country he was at all the way you know. It's at Israel it probably took weeks At least. Probably had like sandals. But you know, you think about the last time you had the money to buy a pair of shoes, they were probably worn out and we're probably falling apart. And his father said, if my son, Is going to be able to represent me in my business. On this Farm. In this community. He not only needs a ring to represent that he's acting my name. He's going to need a proper pair of shoes to go and do. Don't want you to think about what. Was God's unsimulated, God's not phony, but God's not playing it love what God's love did for me. Because that's me. I'm a park.

What God's love did from you. God said, I am going to dress you. In the robe of my own righteousness. Instead of these outer drags of your version of righteousness.

I'm going to take away all the Sims stain rags. And I'm going to put you dressed in the righteousness of the Gloria Scott. I'm going to put my name on you. That's what that ring represents. I'm going to put my name on you. You will be my son. then he said, but that doesn't mean you're going to live a life of a penthouse.

Of my house. No, no, no. You are going to work like your brother, like your father. You are going to work.

But I'm going to make sure that you have what you need to go and do.

Got to love me or not. But he took away my sin saying rag, he wrapped me in his righteousness. He placed his name on me and even allow me to join him and what he was doing, you know what to do and you know what this industry is now, you know what his line is. The word of God says it this way in the Corinthian. With the God was at work. At work. What does God do when God's at work? Do with the dog was at work in the world. Wait a minute. Doesn't work at 7. What he does. There's not much to do up there anymore. You build stuff to last forever.

God was at work. In the world, reconciling the world unto himself.

God. Was pursuing lost sheep. God was at work in Christ dying. On the cross, God was at work, sending the disciple, sending the Apostle, sending the early churches, God was at work, sending someone to me to reconcile me. To himself. And now God says, to me, You are my son, you will wear my righteousness, you will bear my name and you will go with me to work, reconciling the world to God. That's God's unsimulated love. And if you love me that real If God can love me. Genuine, if God can love me, that be, guess what? That tells me?

I may be worthless, but I have value.

Think about that for a moment. Define graph valuable to God. are you listening saying if I'm glad valuable to God, Maybe I should love me too.

You know, the the second commandment after love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul with all your mind. Has an interesting piece of it that most people forget. Second commandment wording to Jesus is Val. Shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

That doesn't mean much. You don't love yourself.

Tell me is that resonate. Can I say resume when there's another church? That's at like, you just kidding.

Resonate, let it resonate with you.

God said, love yourself. That's part of the command. Think about it you can't love your neighbor worth nothing. If you don't work, if you don't love yourself cuz you supposed to love your neighbor as yourself. So, how do I love me? The way gossip. I want what God wants for me. That means I want to become what God wants me to be. Why do I love my neighbor as myself?

I want to see there. Send stain drag drag the way I want to see there. New role of God's righteousness around them covering and eliminated their shame. And I want to see God's name on their finger and God's work boots on their feet. Wow.

How do you? Love the way God. I'm going to tell you, it's not easy. I just, you know, I just made it sound really simple, right? But did I say it was going to be easy. No. It starts not even with loving yourself.

But accepted. I'm not just talking about getting saved leaving in Jesus saying okay God you got me a child, I'm talking about racing. Godzilla.

That's, that's a process called relationship, bill. How many of you have I ever? Experienced the slow, painful death of a relationship because of neglect. Right. Ever gotten a phone call and then like oh hi Mom.

I didn't even realize it was your birthday. Seems like the last time we talked, it was your birthday.

How many people ever had a really good friend that you thought you would be tight with your entire life? One day, you woke up and realized, if it weren't for Facebook, I wouldn't have any contact with them at all.

I remember when Facebook came out, All my old high school, classmate started getting on Facebook. And what I found the ones, I used to be close to in high school and nothing anymore and some of the ones that I'm really good friends with We don't even hardly like each other High School.

Relationships, don't just grow anymore than a garden. That's the water. They need someone to care about them. That's how your relationship with God is. God won't let this relationship with you but you know what else God won't do. God won't force you. The fellowship. God won't force you to walk with him. God will simply always be looking down the road. Waiting for you to return.

Just like The Prodigal Son.

Show the very beginning of unfeigned, Love of unsimulated, love of love, that doesn't play.

is learning to accept God's love for you because

I can't hardly. Look at myself without remembering all the reasons that I'm covered in. Shame I already took the shape. I took the shame, I took the blame I took it all. And I say, I know you did. Megara. I've been robbing your garbage can for my Shane back out. Really, I've been robbing your tune. Because what Jesus left behind in the Tomb. My shame and my blame. I just can't leave it there. There's too many people. I want to blame. There's too much shame. I want to claim.

So what are you doing? Well. I'm going to give you the Practical part, but I'm going to tell you most of its impact can be summarized in basic. They number one, talk about everyday.

Talk to God everyday. Number to listen to God everyday. What does that mean? Well, two parts one is either read or listen to his work. You're like me. You get very busy and audio is cool to listen to God's word. Let it sink in marinating. It, listen to God's word, read his work, read the Bible listened to it. but the second part, Is what the Bible called meditation. This is not sitting in a certain position for hours on end, chanting the same thing over and over. It means literally it comes up on my TV.

And another word that needs to rest and another word. That means you think

So Focus, your mind. Focus your attention. Oh my God. Thank you. Take a few moments. Time to quiet. Alone spot like Isaac did go out to meditate. Go out from everyone else, sit and breathe and just listen. What God has been saying? Think about what the holy spirit is calling to your mind from your Bible reading. Think about what the holy spirit is coming to you with from the sermon Newburg last Sunday.

Listen to what God is saying. Show the first part. Talk to God every day that school prayer. Don't think you're very good at it. Just start, you might not know what to say to your mom or dad, but you know, you might be surprised how much they would love to hear your voice. Got the same way. Secondly, listen to God everyday. So what's the third thing? Go to work with. You want to know how to accept God's love. Go to work. Go to the office with it. What do you mean go to the office. I need to whip that God was at work. What it's going to do when he's at work, we're just got done with you. With the guy was at work in the world.

What is he doing? Reconciling the world?

Don't tell someone about God's what I don't have the words. I can't memorize scripture. I'm not very good at talking to people. That's not my get get tired of hearing. People say those stupid things. You know, why they're stupid? Because they're not true. If you've been given the gift of eternal life, you can talk about it. You know how I know you don't have any trouble talking about this. Right? Talk about your car's, talk about sports teams, talk about you, talking about your your favorite video, game, whatever you have no trouble talking about.

Fathers are don't play at loving people. This is where it starts with you. Accepting God's not. Listen to God.

Intangible. Accepting love is not as simple as just do the right thing. Now, once again, you could be playing, right? Playing at receiving love playing at Living giving love or both plant. Don't play. Is intangible. And it requires a lot of time for all the years that you spent the night in God's love requires, sometimes months or years. I'm rebuilding relationship is eternal and infinite. But you being able to accept his love, that requires rebuilding your relationship. So, God loves you enough to do that. Given the opportunity.

What's the second step then after accepting. Love God.

I'll be honest, you focus on embracing God's love. Letting God's love be poured into you opening your heart to receive it. Let me tell you something, you won't have to try to Love Got Back.

The love of God poured out in your heart, will call for the love for God from your heart. and when that happens, what will happen if you begin to fill up with the love of God and it will spill out into others, your church family, your biological family, your friends, your co-workers, the people that you don't even like,

You know why? Because love is contagious and infectious and ends to get in and take over. It's much more powerful than hate.

And it's much more worthwhile.
