The more people respect their government the more likely they are to follow traffic laws. Government corruption and traffic law compliance go hand in hand. If people think their government is corrupt, they will neglect the most basic of traffic laws. “Less effective governance means that laws are less effective, which means that people are less likely to follow them.”
