Let us please first look at Gods Word.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Prayer.

In the beginning. This is no average begining. This is not the start of a day, week, month, or year. This is not the beggining of a bowl of cereal or a new beginning to any anything. This is as scripture says, THE beginning.

Genesis 1:1-2 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”

I want you to notice the seperation af God and His Spirit in this verse. Both of these bodies are present and without a beginning. Now lets continue our reading in John.

In the beginning was the Word. Notice this capitol W in Word as it is in my Bible and should also be in yours. This tells us immediately without a deep theological stanpoint that this Word is a person merely using practical grade school grammer we can come to this general idea that the Word is a Person.

and the Word was with God: I want to bring out that the was is a past tense. This un-named person to this point, John is telling us, was with God before creation. Meaning that this person the Word, is also without beginning. How is this so if there is only one true God? Im so glad you asked.

The next line in our text says that: and the Word was God!!! Wait a minute is this saying that someone else is God? Yes, bear with me as we continue our reading and look at the Greek defintion of word. It is translated from logos which is one of the most used and important titles for Christ. So then bringing this all together now, we have clealy been honored with the introduction of the Trinity or Godhead. Johns loose translation is that: in the beggining, God the Father, Jesus Christ or God the son, and The Holy Spirit or spirit of God created the Heavens and the earth.

Affirming our loose translation of Genesis 1:1-2 is the next part of our text in V.2, It says, the same was in the beginning with God. We now know that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior who was and is and will always be, was in the beginning reminded us that He is without a beginning. We worship an Eternal savior and God. We can now see the deity of Jesus and His Divine Nature. Come on christian, how awesome is that. We serve a risen savior. No other religion can claim that.

Now reading again in V.3, All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Jesus Christ is the creator. Look at the word all. All things, not some. In the Greek, the word is panta or pan-tay, meaning everywhere, wholly, in all respects,and in every way. And see even more not anything, not one thing. I repeat Jsus Christ is the creator. This may trouble some so please look at the word made with me. In the Greek it is Poiesis and means to make or be brought into being. If then All things were madde by Him(Jesus) And without Him ( Jesus) nothing was made then, Jesus has brought into existence all things having a beginning. We can compare this to Hebrews 1:1-3 “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also He created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,”

Please venture with me one minute. He(Jesus) is the radiance of the Glory of God. So what then is this Glory of God? Another great question my brothers and sisters. The Glory of God is anything that makes God known. Think of Great artists. Maybe like the starry night by Van Gogh. pretty cool right. Or how about the Mona Lisa by Da Vinci, another well sought after piece of art. Now lets look at the purest most beautiful and wonderful display of Gods glory in that of the form of man John 3:16 ““For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” WHOOHOO!! Now we can see the beautiful starry night by Gods hand every single day without a purchase. We can see the rarest of creatures and beauty in smiles all over the world and in every day that we stop to take in Gods masterpiece without expense. I mention without expense over and over because I want yoou to Know, no matter how nice you are, no matter how much money you make or give, no matter where you attend church, and or no matter how many kids you adopt, you, me, nor any one or thing get into heaven alone. The expense was hefty, and it was paid, willingly by Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior on the cross.

V.4 says now: In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

The light is Gods command to us for accountability and acceptance of Christ and our obedince to Him. Jesus Is our light. Jesus is our Guide to living. And plainly stated Jesus is life. Life yall. Yes im a Texan. Life yall. Jesus Christ is life.. please understand this above all my ramblings. Jesus Christ is Eternal Life. Jesus Christ is Salvation. John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Amen an Amen. Thank you Jesus.

So in conclusion, let me charge you first my dear friends. If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, do not wait another second. Speak to someone immediatley before you leave this place today about becoming part of the Eternal family of God. If you are not sure where you are going to spend eternity, today is the day that you stop risking and endless torment in heat. Replace that doubt with assurance of a tear free, pain free, and joyfully forever party in Heaven. Where the temperature is just right and its always your favorite kind of weather to dance in.

And no my brothers and sisters you are not off the hook here. If You have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you believe He is the one true God and the creator of the universe then we should worship Him. I dont want you to leave here without intent to worhip Him until wednesday or Sunday. Be honest with yourself because God already knows your hearts and schedules. He knows where you spend your money. He knows what you search on the internet, facebook, and what you watch on TikTok. God knows how you speak to your co-workers. And God knows how you treat youor neighbor. I Do not nor does the person sitting 2 rows down. When I am honest i fall short in some of these areas regularly. So today, christian, please make it right with the Lord. Give Him that lust, give Him that greed, Give Him that anger, give Him that fear, give Him that resentment and ask Him to replace it with joy, happiness, love, peace, and contentment. Christian please give Him your heart again, give Him your life to control once more.
