A Mother's Primary Responsibility | 1 Timothy 1:5 | Pastor Jose Brevil

This morning, I want to talk to you about a mother's primary responsibility, a mother's primary responsibility. If I were to ask you a questions, those of you wore mother's, do you want to have good kids or do you want to have Godly kids? I break all of us. Christians when Christian Mother's you will say that I want to have a Godly kid, of course, Jose. Don't you know I'm a Christian that's exactly what I want to do. But a lot of times we say that we want to have Godly kids, but we don't always work toward that end. See while we make sure that our kids go to school every morning. Make sure that they are not late for school, but once in a while, it's okay to skip church and it's okay that they do, they have a soccer match on Sunday morning. Oh, you know. It's just seasonal. So we got to go to that soccer. And so on, and on, and on, you know, where make sure they go to the after-school activities have been struggling in school. We make sure that they get the tutoring, that they need be busy, you know, we make sure that our kids have good morals. But one thing that often is lacking is that we do not take that responsibility to raise Godly kids. Seriously, we want garlic, is we say, but really what we working boys that will working for good kids, so

Here's the message that would take just in one sentence. The message in one sentence is this we need to strive much more for our children to be Godly than just being good. We need to strive for our children to be Godly than just being good. In Matthew 6:33, it says to seek first, the kingdom of God and his righteousness and everything will be added to you. Do we believe this Bible verse? It says seek first, the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all this thing's what it is fangs, morality? What I did things to be healthy. What a distance to thrive in school, all those things, God, promise the day, when we put God first, when we striving to raise our kids to be Godly, guess what? They going to be healthy. They going to try and school and all those things will come after. You see, I want to share things with you this morning for things about a mother's responsibility, a mother's primary responsibility is to pass on the legacy of Faith. That's a mother's primary responsibility is to pass on the legacy of faith and by doing four things first by being a role model for By being a wool model for faith, that means being an example. In 2nd, Timothy verse 115, we see Paul here saying, I am reminded of your sincere Faith, Paul talking to Timothy of faith. That well first, you know, Your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice. And now I am sure what, dwells in you as well. You see the transfer of faith. It started with Grandmother, grandmother makes shoes that a mother gets its and mother makes shoes that the children gets it. When I first moved here in one of the reason why I just felt like a pressure to stay and started a church. Was that a lot of times when I talk to kids in school that I used the mentor, I would accept it. You going to church on Sunday? I don't know, I didn't go or if they say, they want the usual. Oh yeah. I went to my grandmother's Church. That means we're skipping a whole generation. That is not going. So if the kids go they went with their grandmother, not their mother. You see here, Timothy sing a tights Believers, the primary responsibility that Paul is telling Timothy and telling looking here with the pattern, it started with the grandmother because Grandmother Had Faith, then the mother had faith. And now it's trickled down to the kids. So our primary responsibility is to raise Godly kids in Psalm 113 verse 9. It says he gives the barren woman or home making her the joyous mother of children. And exclaim. Praise the Lord. Be a lot of time. We'll look at kids this day as the new sense that if they take a lot of work, they bother us. They make me want to pull out my hair.

I need to focus much more in my career. Now know that the kids, you know, they making me miss out on life. And you know, some people their decision whether to keep a baby or not, I need to do because of their career and abortion is so available. It's it's it's an inconvenience But the Bible says, children are a blessing from God. And here, it says that when a mother gives birth, actually that's joy, that is being brought into your life, not taking away Joy. Even though, sometimes it will feel like the kids are taking Joy from you, but it seems he gives the barren woman a home scene. When you have kids, God is just blessing you making her the joyous mother of children. You see mother who it is a privilege and motherhood is something to be received with joy in 1st Thessalonians. 2:7, it says brother. We were gentle among you like a nursing mother taking care of our own children. You think you just natural for mothers to take care of their children 2 to nurse them? And you know, to give them what they need to feed them unless there is something wrong, but you see here again, Paul is speaking you saying, hey, hey, you see, mothers gentleness come naturally and they didn't want to care for that thing. I remember one of my teachers will greatly impacted mean when I was in high school. She always said, I don't want to have kids. No, no, I never want to have kids.

Then it turned out that she had ended up having a kid. That was our love. Nobody could take that kid away from her know nothing but her more joy than that girl that God had blessed her with you say. Children are a blessing. Not a curse and we need to treat them as such no matter what faith is there. In case I have what, No Greater Joy than to hear that. My children are walking in the truth and I think that should be every mother's prayer that do not have a Me, Greater Joy than to see their kids walking with God. And if everything else is going well, and your kid is not working with God that I should bring sadness and you should pray. That God will bring the joy of your kids walking in him and his parents more is cut then is. We may say that we want Godly kids but winning the kids, see that you put more importance on school and act. Tivities did not spiritual activities or reading your Bible or your kids catching you praying, your kids catching, you reading your Bible and encouraging. Somebody your kids seeing you that you put in God as a priority in your life. Let's remember that more is gone. Then. We need to do it. By example, don't say that I want you to be Godly but everything else that we do. That's not really support. That is the truth, guys, use the truth. I love this poem by 60 studs. But if they don't know Christ, the only good thing that they will It will be just those few things that they had here. Life is short, life is uncertain. We want to make sure that our kids are walking with God. And the second thing is that as parents, we need to pass on the legacy of Faith, by teaching our children to learn to trust and depend on. God we need to teach them to learn to trust and to depend on God look at that. A lot of me 6 verse 4 to 9, it says Hear o Israel the Lord Our God. The Lord is one, you shall love the Lord, your God with all your heart, all your soul. And with all your might, and there's words that I have command at a command, you today shall be on your heart. Look at this. you shall teach them the religiously to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up, You're so behind him as a sign on your head and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes, you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your Gates, you get away from the word of God, kill them with the word. You see actually research has been done like mothers with talk to their kids. Even fathers will come and talk to the kids when they're still in the belly. All that is important, speak the word to them. While they even in the belly, That's what God's word is telling us, give it to them, give the word to them. Someone 19465, says great peace. Have those who love the Lord. So what you trying to do to develop a love for the word of God in your children, then look, what will happen? Nothing can make them stumble. That means when they get disappointment in life later against what they will be strong, it doesn't matter. They not going to feel pressured that they have to take their lives away because they have such a desire for God's word. And God's word is so strong into their life. Nothing absolutely nothing can make them stumble. You see why? The word of God is so important. You want to build something Fitness, kids want to build some peculiar kids. You want to build some joyful kids catches? This is the way to go because life is full of disappointments, hurts problems. You know what you experienced sub? So you can like, Shield your kids from that, you know, they're going to experience hurts. They going to experience this appointment, they going to encounter all kinds of problems. You can that she'll them the best protection that you can do is to make sure that you're passing the legacy of Faith. So that they have their own face. So now they can fight their spiritual warfare in the world. Look up, Proverbs 3 verse 1 to 8. It says, my son to not forget my teaching, but let your heart. Keep my what commands for length of days and years of life and peace. Be will add to you the word of God good. We need space. All of us can use some peace in our lives. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake. You buying them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So, you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and Men. All of you should know this verse trust in the Lord, with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your path. If you're going the wrong way, he will make it straight. If you are not God, will take care of you to be not wise in your own eyes. That means and fear the lord, and turn away from Evil. So don't let TV raise your kids. Don't like dr. Phil, raise your kids? They don't let your own opinion. Raise your kids. But why did you let raise their kids? Their word of God don't be wise in your own eyes. Going to go with the latest psychological research, go with the word because the Bible says that the Bible is the same today, yesterday and forever. Does that mean like some research in Psychology? Would not help with some things you dealing with nothing, what I'm saying it can't help but I'm saying that don't neglect what you have there, that will never change and God says that it works. And it has proven for years that it works stain in a fifth wheel, be what healing to your flash and refreshment to your bones. You have so many people hurting today and have all kinds of problems in the world. The solution is in the word. Stay in the word, give your kids to the word that the best gift you can give them in for Samuel. They have a story of Hannah Hannah was there and she could not have children. Now the third thing, a mother's responsibility Third Way that manifests as passing along a legacy of faith is training her children is by training her children. If you look into Proverbs 22 verse 6, it says what. Train up a child in the way that he should go. Even when he is old, he will not depart from it. Trimmed them up when God says speak the word in the morning. Speaking at lunch, speaking during drop-off and pick-up speaker at night, you training them and God says, hey, when you make those deposits, even when they might seem like the depart from the faith, guess what, they will come right back in Proverbs 18, it says Hear My Son, Your Father's instruction in forsake, not your mother's teaching. Proverbs 10 verse 1 says a wise son mixer I had father but a foolish son is what so rude to his mother. God is saying you want kids that will make you be joyful, teach them the word trend them in the world and you will be glad with that doesn't mean you're not going to have some struggles, okay? But long-term you will be glad in them. Proverbs, 29 verse 15. I know that your parents have said that to you. As you grew up in the church, the rod and reproof give wisdom, but a Child Left to himself brings what Shame to his mother. Do not neglect, disciplining your children. Don't kill them now. Abusing them but you can discipline them. It says the rod and reproof gives what wisdom. So we have a whole generation of children, raising themself, and then we are not giving them the guidance that they need. See, we need to be very direct and teach the kids. What is right? So they know what is right and we need to teach them what is wrong, so that they know what is wrong with. All right, last one, so mother has primary responsibility is to pass on the legacy of Faith by praying for her children to be Godly by praying for her children to be Godly. Look at Isaiah 54, verse 13 and all your children shall be. By the Lord and great shall be the Peace of your children. That's my wife's prayer for our kids every day. All our children shall be taught by the Lord and great shall be the Peace of your children. Every day when my wife, when we praying, we prayed a prayer of our kids. We pray that they will be touched by God, and that God will give them peace. 1st Samuel, 1, 27 verse 28, says, Ford this job, I prayed that Hannah speaking and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. Therefore I have one let him to the Lord. Only temporarily as long as he lives. He is Lent to the Lord. Your children are not yours. They are God's. So give them to you. Do you believe that guy can do much better job than you? There's no we can raise our kids and that's too many things in the world. We would love to protect them from. We know we can't we cannot be 24/7 over and over them. That little device you our greatest enemy.

It's so many things, we can protect our kids, we just have to entrust them to the Lord. That's all we can do and he Worship the Lord there. He, she kept her promise. We want our kids to be saved. Okay? That you being rooted and grounded in love that, the living out, the gospel may have strength to comprehend with all this since they were me. What is the breadth and length and height and depth and to know the love of Christ, that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. The prayer you want to pray for your kids. Every day that there will be food with God, that they have a full understanding of the Gospel, then all its implications. And then, you know what, the next verse says, now to him, who is able to do far more abundantly above all, we could ever ask fake or imagine, according to the power at work within us. Do you know what it all means? All and that's all on me. So God says, hey when you pray for your children to know God, then everything will come after. Is that what you want for your kids? Is the message in a nutshell when you raise Godly kids. There will also be. Do you believe that when you raise Godly kids, there will also be good kids. But if your focus is primarily on raising good kids guess what they may become very successful.

In this life. But that's not guaranteed. And they may even be very successful to their detriment. So, we need to be careful. Remember, God will honor those who honor him. If you believe it's a man, when you raise Godly kids, they will also be good kids. But if you focus, your focus is primarily on raising good kids. They may become very successful in this life but that's not guaranteed. God honors, those who honor him. By being a role model for Faith by teaching her children to learn to trust and depend on God by training her children into godliness. And then to help their cats. To be Godly and praying for them. Father, thank you for your grace this morning. Thank you for all the mothers look. There were so many hats. Sometimes we don't even know how they do all the things that they do that. You must have given them special Grace. For all the mothers this morning when they feel well, maybe that they are stay-at-home mom. Sometimes they don't feel the worth of the value and what they doing but father may they be like Hannah until remember Lord guy just pulling into a kid's life. That is one of the most important job. That a mother can ever do. So as they have that opportunity to be at home to be able to pour into those children, life made, they do not take this job lightly and I pray for the mothers were busy working in the world and also at home to striving to raise kids. May you give them Grace, may you give them patients, may you help them load. God not to beat themselves up. When did they don't always get it right? When they feel like they need to spend more time at home but that's just their reality to bother you be with them and you give them your grace, the father, thank you for all that you are doing in each of our lives. And I pray, father For every mother year and and everywhere that you would help them load God to pass on that Legacy of Faith to their children and their children's children.
