Roles and Responsibilities - part 1?

look over wedding message from text. maybe that’s part 2? or vice-versa.
Pray over what else to discuss before ending this series, or starting a new one.
Do we go onto parenting at all?
A more in depth discussion of Christ and the church.
Maybe start looking a Gen “Z”.
5 fold ministry of Eph 4 and how to practically do…ties into the direction of the church now that I’ve been here a year. Outreach and Evangelism. Apologetics and Discipleship.
Men’s and women’s groups…
Leaving a Godly Legacy…could that tie in to all I just mentioned as an overarching series?
How Now Shall We Live? Should we look at end times and the harvest field?
Ephesians 5:21 NASB95
and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
World’s 50/50 plan or God’s 100/100 plan
Setting aside one’s own selfishness
No talk about meeting each other half way.
Did God meet us halfway? No He gave it all up, even before we even knew He had done that.
Do we accept God halfway? No our acceptance is a full 100% commitment.
Do we always go 100%? Unfortunately no. Neither with God nor our spouse.
But that doesn’t mean we stop giving our all and trying, which is why both following God and pursuing our spouse is a never ending effort.
Fortunately with God, even when we fail, He will not stop being faithful to us.
So the challenge is that, as humans, we have to both be willing to do anything it takes to make the marriage work.
There must be sensitivity on both sides in this issue.
1 Peter 3:7 NASB95
You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
Husband…Here’s some Advil for your headache. Wife…I don’t have a headache. Husband…Good to know. Lights fade...
Men are like microwave ovens. Hit start and instant heat.
Women are like crock pots. Turn on and slowly heat up.
It is easier for men to compartmentalize their lives. They could have had the worst day, but come bed time, none of that matters.
Whereas women tend to be wholistic. Everything that happens in a day can affect their mood and attitude in the evening.
