Ahaziah continued in the footsteps of Ahab and provoked the Lord to anger.
He turned to Baal-zebul (Lord of princes), known in Israel as Baal-zebub (Lord of the flies).
God is Severe in His judgement of rebellious sinners.
One of the sure signs that a government has grown corrupt is when its leaders not only cease to listen to God’s Word, but begin to demand God’s messengers be accountable to them.
Government is to be subject to God. The captains who failed to recognize God’s authority in Elijah paid for their presumption with their life.
God is merciful to those who come before him in humility.
