Mark 10:45

Theme: Christ, the Servant
Key Chapter: 8
Key Verse: 10:45
16 chapters; 678 verses; 15,166 words
Grade: 4.8
Author: The Holy Spirit of God by inspiration (2 Timothy 3:15-16) through John Mark (2 Timothy 3:16; 4:10-13)
While tradition holds to Peter giving Mark the story of this Gospel and it being written at Rome with Peter as the author and Mark as the amanuensis, it is not a proven scriptural truth.
What is true is that while Paul was in a Roman prison he called for Timothy to bring Mark with him when he comes to Rome (2 Timothy 4:11) citing that he is now profitable for the ministry.
He also asks his cloke, books, and parchments to be with him at the same time (2 Timothy 4:13). It would seem that Barnabas (Acts 15:36-39) along with Timothy and Paul (2 Timothy 4:11, 13) would have had more influence on Mark while the Holy Ghost provided the words by inspiration (2 Timothy 3:16).
