Ezekiel 38: God's Defense of Israel - 7 Oracles

The precepts of the Lord are right rejoicing, my heart, the Commandment of the Lord is pure and lie to me in the eyes. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach. And it will be given to him. The beginning of wisdom is acquire wisdom in with all your acquiring get understanding, heard early father were in this place now because we are in constant need of wisdom. The wisdom in the pursuit of wisdom is also the means of worshipping you our God. The only way for us to comprehend. Grace Lord is to meet you in Worship in the study of your word, The Pursuit Of Truth and there as truth is unveiled, Grace becomes unveiled and we understand what Grace is all about. We thank you for the great admonishments of you have given us in the encouragement to keep on keeping on Lord that there is a that there is a reaping of being fruitful. There is a reaping of continuing or is a reeking of pressing and pursuing your things. We are thankful that we have this opportunity to change the priorities of our life from being those, which we might seek on a daily basis to pursue those things, which are of Eternal consequence sometimes. We can't see the difference and sometimes they are so mixed up in a good way because you are so involved in every aspect of her life that it is impossible to peel away your amazing provision from anything that we see around us, sometimes we need the eyes to see. We are blinded and we're unable and sometimes we just need your Doctrine to reacquaint this with the truth of your word greater. In this time, of a study of Ezekiel, you give us wisdom and insight that we would find ourselves and courage than lightning and a growing concerning. These great things. You have testified about the future of Israel and future prophecy that you have made a major portion of scripture. So may we study it. Learn from it and find ourselves guided in our ability to rightly divide your word. This, we all pray in the precious name of our Lord savior. You price me many men.

You didn't mention confession of sin but I will assume that everyone has that discipline down and you will know to confess any known send that you might be filled with the spirit as we are moving into our study. So we're picking up here today if I got the date, right? I've been working hard to get the date right? Wednesday June. 7th 2023. Okay. There we go. So we have been going through some content. We are looking at we've graduated from Ezekiel chapter 37 and everything that needed to be said about chapter 37. And we work through a couple of dicey little phrases, especially concerning the The Servants of David that was to come and understanding who that was to be. Who is this seeming? Descendant of David? Is he did he send them to David or someone who is down line from David or is David represent him and so we had some stuff to work through and we actually did a fairly extensive several months review going through and looking at everything that would apply to that. And in the end we came to an understanding. There is a New Covenant that is to come the New Covenant start when the millennial Kingdom starts that's when it is initiated. The New Covenant is also called The Covenant of peace. Also called The Eternal Covenant. So, there are several names that we might find in the Old Testament, prophetic passages that are all Referring to the same thing, and it's this Covenant that the Lord Jesus Christ puts in place with Israel. That's actually a further unveiling of the uncovered other covenants that are out there, but they all stopped at a certain place and don't go far enough. And so he says that this right time after I restored Israel after I've defeated your enemies which is dots at the end of the tribulation I will begin this New Covenant and this New Covenant then is what we think of as the millennial Kingdom and what God is doing with Israel from then on and Israel is changed every Israelites will be a believer at the end of the tribulation going through the millennial Kingdom. It appears that every Israelite will choose to be born again throughout that thousand year. Oh, contraire Gentiles, they will not do the same thing. We will have many who will not believe, even though they are in a perfect environment. Perfect scenario. Perfect Kingdom ruled over by the Lord Jesus Christ himself. There will be people who will not admit their need for The grace covering of Christ, the atoning sacrifice for sin, they will not agree to it or admit to it, and they will be stuck with their sins. Were all the attorney. At the end of a thousand years, they will rebuilt. But the Israelites will have a change start their hearts of stone. We are told in passages, I will be changed and they will become hearts of Flesh who they will be respondents to the word of God. They won't have to be told and admonished over and over again. Hear God, hear God, listen to the word of God because it will be written on the hearts of these individuals. Well that's interesting because there's many, many Christians running around who they want to tell you. Well that's us. And God has written his law on our hearts and typically they are in the charismatic or the less well-grounded portions of the event, jellicle Community. But I want to say that's God writing on my heart. When he speaks a special word to me and he tells me something, you know, go down to such and such and see. So and so and so they drive down to see their friend who they haven't seen in weeks or whatever. And they think they have a word of God to tell him. Do that? No, no doubt. God can lead us through impulses and in our inclinations. In fact I like to point out that whether you think you're making a good decision, or you think you're making a bad decision, you don't have to toss them up, roll out the dice or roll out the knuckle bones does the grill. Used to say for those who don't know, the sad thing. But I learned to send in my Latin training. When I was taking my first year of Aladdin when the Romans were at the feet of the Cross and they were playing, they were gambling to see who got this government. This wealthy man's garment, that was there at the cross with Christ? They were tossing. Ice, it would seem but what they were really doing is tossing knuckle, bones. So, what is a knuckle bone? It is the bone of a man and you take those bones and it turns out, they're all shaped the same way and they have six sides. And each one is different. And based on the difference in the side, you can tell that one, two, three, four, five or six. Knuckle Bones. Have you ever heard the saying you know toss the knucklebones? That's what they're talkin about. It it's kind of a gross gory thing. They came down to us through cultures and civilizations of conquerors who took Knuckles and turn them into dice to gamble with. So well, where the hell do I get on that?

Anyways, that's where I guess we're working our way through what has happened. So the Gentile Nations, they will not be following, but the Jews will, I guess my point was for those Christians who say, you know, God's writing on my heart, he's telling me his will constantly. Here's the thing that's promised to us. God and His Providence will guide you and lead you regardless, whether you turn left at the stop sign or turn, right at the stop sign. He will guide you and he will lead you, and he will take care of things because we sometimes think. What would have happened if I hadn't turned left, right? Hadn't turned, right? Or if I didn't say hi, or I'm going to come back. I'm just going to go in today. And then you meet this person be find out is in the middle of a situation and you're able to minister love care for that individual that you never would have met if you hadn't pulled in there and you think it's a good thing was I sensitive to the ward. Is that why? Let me just put it this way. Damn your sensibilities. God will guide you because he is a guiding God. He is the one who does the work? He gets the credit. He gets the glory so there is no charismatic badge, you get for being sensitive to the Lord. When the Lord is one that took you and put you there to begin with. So the writing on the hearts in the sensitive parts that has to do. I mean, apart from, you know, post-surgery situations that all has to do with God himself. And that's going to be happening with Israel during the time of the New Covenant, New Kingdom. So it has nothing to do with us Christians. It's not about us. Don't let someone bun swaggle. You on that one, which means they're giving you their worthless no-good boat. That's going to Spring leaks as soon as you get out in the middle of the lake and they're going to take your good both, it doesn't have any leaks and run off with it. Upsize. You take this one, it's an even better. Both look at this. Look at how much bigger it is. You can get 12 people on here, instead of your six-man boat. When you go out the middle I can you sing That's called getting boom swoggled. Well. We are in chapter 38. Now I'm only found in chapter 38, is that we have seven.

Seven different oracle's or predictions that have been made. So, we listed those for you last week, for me, see if I can find them here.

Going through or second section, then God's evil thoughts and intentions will lead him to invade Israel. Dogs evil thoughts and intentions. That's what's going to lead him?

To invade Israel. I'm out. Is verses 10 through 13. So we got four versus and take a look at them. Ezekiel, 38 verse 10. Says the Lord God that day. It shall come to pass. That thoughts will arise in your mind and you will make an evil plan.

Parts rising in the Blind and an evil plan. So that's pretty clear.

Verse 11 and you will say speaking, then the Intentions by Will I Am 10 to I am 10 to go up against a land of on wall Villages. What does that mean? Well, that's an interesting it something that we have to deal with because one of the reasons that people talk about what can be weird? What's included what battles were included in in? Which pieces of the timeline going forward has to do with this idea of unwalled. Villages do not want Village is one that doesn't have protection. It hasn't built up enforcement around it, it doesn't have artillery or literally walls. Now, are we to take this as a figure of speech?

Meaning of unprotected cities or we to take it literally as cities with walls. We would go back to Israel. 10 things that we've studied. Recently is how we had all these walled cities throughout Israel and these walled cities when the when the Conquering Empires came in, when a surrey at came in and they conquered the north, what did they do? Do they just mopped up all of the villages in the places Without Walls, but they couldn't get into the walled cities because they had protection. They had Springs. They had water sources that food supplies and they had protected themselves. And so, they were either sieged more. They were just leave them be and go for the easier. Low-hanging fruit, as War. Same thing happened in West Babylon, when we have Babylon Waging War and in the account against the war, where Hezekiah Just coming out and saying, more look at what they've said against us. They sent a letter a letter. It's not a bomb, didn't send a tactical nuke, an opossum in the city, they sent a letter. And this letter says, because because I have conquered everything, and if I conquered everything, I will conquer you and no other City. No other walled cities. God has been able to protect them and neither will your walled cities. God be able to protect you if they said the wrong thing. So in this case, we have a letter that is not a silo or a missile or a missive, it will destroy, but it turns out it is a missive that will backfire on its owner because God saw that letter as Hezekiah Temple. And he said to some actor, rob, you said your days are over. It's over with Buddy and he sent the news back to him. And what did he do? Where he was killed by his sons?

So you didn't survive. It turns out that the God of this walled city of Jerusalem is the Supreme one. So, but we learned about these walled cities in the contacts, are they are meaningful. It's significant it is a means of protection. So we're going to figure that out. We're just reading it right now. We'll come back and we'll study it. And I'll give you some reasons to think one way or the other and then my reasons to come to the conclusion. But a nun walled Village. So either means a place without protection. They've lost their protection somehow like right now they have, you know, the Iron Dome, right? So any missiles that are shocked over into Jerusalem, you know, or into Israel. They're going to shoot them down before they before they land because we've created the system which they've modified and made better. And so any missiles a we shoot over there going to shoot them down hopefully they get up pretty high percentage of them. So Bedtime Israel is not destroyed. What happens if the Iron Dome goes down, Well I'm suggesting that it may not be that taste but we're going to have is we're going to see millions of people riding horses coming down. So we may have some type of blue nose. Yeah, I know, I don't want to speak into scripture but there may be some reason why technology will be laid there and people will not be able to use it in their defense. And when that happens, then this individual is going to see what we're calling or what scripture calls on wall Village is because I will go to a peaceful people who dwell safely. All of them dwelling Without Walls and having either bars Norgate verse 12, to take plunder and to take, booty to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited against a people gathered from. Nations, who acquired livestock and goods who dwell in the midst of the land, continuing verse 13 Sheba. The Dan, the merchants of tarshish on all their young Lions will say to you. Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty to carry way silver and gold to take away livestock and goods to take great plunder. So he gets this idea and everyone else says wow you got this idea. Are you going to go and take all of that? Wonder, are you going to plunder the wealth in the riches that are there? Interesting. So that is all that is our second Oracle. Then God's evil thoughts and intentions for going to lead him to invade Israel. When we come to our third, Give me outline Dogwood dance, against Israel from the north. We have that in verses 14 through 16. So this is the third, the third of our oracles and so let's read that. Beginning and verse 14 is he kill 38. Therefore notice every one of these is starting now with basic same phrase. Therefore, son of man says the Lord God every time we see the says the Lord God we have a new Oracle so that's our distinguishing between those are not taking me with all as a run on each one is a separate entity unto itself. So that may mean that we have each one in its own. Bubble was slightly different characteristics, slightly different timing going on. It doesn't mean that they all happen. One after another there and lock chain and if you pull on a than Z moves as well, okay, we're not assume. That what we are assuming is each of these or individually spoken by the Lord. But it's about the same situation. So, verse 14, therefore, son of man prophesy and saving dog. That says the Lord, God on that day. When my People Israel, dwell safely, will you not know it? So the Lord is speaking to God, you saying, when my people are there blowing safely, won't you know, verse 15th, then you will come from your place out of the far north you and many people with you. All of them riding on horses, they great company in a mighty or so we have a phenomenal number of Horst individuals. It's interesting because we have come from an era in which we had the maybe we had the Army and we had the calvary. The Mets were different sections of our military at that time. Give me a weather report it to different commanders, each of them and their own Silo, which then independently reported up to the commander and chief each of them had different commissions. Different purposes for being. Now, the calvary was a used for many of the wars that we had. The Indian Wars, the Spanish Spanish American War, the French Indian War. The Army was primarily used during the Revolutionary War and then the naval forces were used for the french-american. War muster about the Spanish-American War Thor, is the Mediterranean Mediterranean aspect to that there. I don't know my history that well on that, but what is interesting is going in the world war, we had those distinct Forces and in the midst of World War II, we also develop to the Air Force so I'm not sure. They were individual that. So we had them in WWII but I'm not sure where the breakout we've had to work. Air Force back in World War 1. What I do know is it Midway through World War II. The Get this.

The calvary was merged with the air with the Air Force. The calvary became part of the Air Force and then the calvary disappeared. So what are you saying? So the horses are going with the things that fly in the sky, right? That's what we're doing. But really, it has to do with those people who are in charge of getting resources around. The mail was partially the job of those people who were in the in the calvary. Know you may not know this but our be theme when he joined the military, he joined the calvary but when he left, he was actually a lieutenant colonel of the Air Force. So, and he spent his time being in charge of freeing everyone in The Silo. So he was part of that merger joining together at that time, just interesting. But who would have thought the people are going to have to come around say a lot but I guess we got to start a Calvary again cuz that's what's coming. That's what's happening. So there are going to be Calvary is or whether we have our armies or entire, you know, who knows what the structure will be. But there is going to be a need for horses that great company in a minute, Mighty army army vs, 16 Says you will come up against my People. Israel, like a cloud. That means. Just like the cloud does just come rolling in the covers, it darkens, the land, it will be in the latter days. That's a code word in the latter days, what that means that this is not something that is going to be happening during the ages of Israel up until the first Advent. But this has something to do with the latter day, so that has to do with when the clock of Israel begins again. So we'll dig into that phrase. So does that mean the tribulation does? It mean the tribulation plus the millennial Kingdom came in the tribulation plus Millennial Kingdom, plus the Eternal Kingdom, including all the wars and battles in between, we're not figure that out. So we'll have to come up with some vocabulary will review that list. I don't remember the last time we did that here, but will break that out. Make sure that we understand what latter days can refer to you and where the different passages reference it so that I will bring you against my Lynn. Missy God is attacking God's. Land is really the gist of it. This is what it comes down to. They look at the land and they say, oh, look, safe people People who don't have any protection people full of prosperity with plunder. We can go in and we can take it all. They are in a place of safety. We don't have walls and defenses and we will come and take it all the way in. So they develop and come together with a plan and a massive Army in here. God says This Is My Land.

I will bring you cuz he says, I am the one who's throwing you down. I'm the one, who's affected. Your thoughts in your intentions. I am growing you down so that the nations may know me. They think it's all about them. So we have these massive war that's getting put together numbers of Nations, millions and millions of individuals will be part of that in the purpose. He says, it's so that the nations may know me. Do you know where we see the word Nations? Often times? It could be translated as Gentiles. Movc Gentiles that can be translated as Nations context means everything. So what does the saying is basically all of the non is real world is going to be able to see all those people who are not following. God will go to see me when I am Hollow Road in, you do Gog before their eyes, because how are how is he going to be hallowed? And then when he wipes them out, when they come down, there are attacking Israel and God stops wipes them out in the entire world is going to go o. I thought God was going to come down and Conquer and Destroy Israel but nope. God destroyed Gog. So that's what all the nations are going to understand. So that is our third Oracle. Next, we have kind of an unwrapping of the 4th Oracle to starting to verse 17 going through verse 23.

Text me, another 6 versus here. Let's read these. Starting in verse 17, verse says, the Lord God, are you? He of whom I have spoken in former days. Why my servants, the prophets of Israel, who prophesied four years, in those days, that I would bring you against in. So he saying there been prophecies out there saying that someone is going to charge in from the north, are you? He so, we have a little bit of a Poet poetic. Mocking what's going on here? You've heard me use the term polemic before and a polemic is basically, when as used in scripture is something where God comes in and he is making fun of the false gods, the false Heroes, the false King's, The False Nations and putting them in their place. For example, we have Elijah on Mount Caramel where he has called together all of the prophets of the nation. They've all come together because they're all prophesying counter to what he's prophesying and he speaking to the king of the northern tribes and the Queen and they're saying we're believing these guys and not you and he says well let's put it to a test. Let's find out who actually is speaking for the real God or whose God is real. And so they get up there and Mount Carmel May build a great big alter and they cover it and they put their sacrifices on it. And then he has his opponents priest. He says, and it's like instant.

you know, when things are Just ready to LEAP into flames. Tinderbox type of situation, crackle, crackle snap and you go outside and you think oh I hope there is not going to be a fire cuz it's going to be bad and so we have that situation and let me just like a Tinderbox situation and these priests or Singing and dancing and working and praying around the altar, trying to get their God bail, to bring down fire from heaven, and it doesn't happen, and it goes on. And after a while, they all goes, well, maybe you were God's not there. Maybe he's not around. Go ahead and do another try and so they keep on working. He starts in themselves cutting themselves, causing blood to be involved in making that part of their trying to get their God's attention. And he goes, well, maybe maybe your God is away from the implication here in the Hebrew is that maybe he's in the Outhouse and he's busy with something else and he can't hear you. So maybe you just need to work harder to get his attention and so they work harder at third time, dancing around and nothing. MMA have to admit that their God is not going to bring down fire. The man. Elijah says, bring water buckets of water. He has a water and water and water all over the sacrifice, all over everything. So now he has to walk through the mud, to get out there to the middle of this giant. You know, sacrificial man on that has been put in place and he prays simply And carefully and he says, Lord. Are God and Heaven show these that you are indeed, the one true, and living God, and that I speak for you. Fire falls from heaven instantly, everything is in blazed and the sacrifices are burnt. The wood is burnt, the stone, it is burnt and everyone knows that they have The wrong guy and he has the right goddamn. They are false prophets living in a false Kingdom, a false, northern kingdom. And Elijah pulls out his sword and he slays all of the profits, which is the punishment for those who are false prophets. Now, I've heard theme and other say well yeah, but it should have been done in a proper way. Should have been a stoning, the profits of the bastogne but also it's supposed to be the act of the government. You know, it's the father's at the gates were supposed to do this and I think that is, I'm sorry that's fault at all but I don't agree with that. There are reasons and we have God's statement saying that knocked with Elijah did the wrong thing, but he was doing the right thing. And since you done the right thing, why is it that he didn't have hope when he could have broke down? Later on all of that is an example of that term then.

Yeah, of a, of a polemic. So, a poem egg, then it's really making fun of the other guys and God does that over and over again. Every time we see a miracle happen throughout the Old Testament and I would say as well every time throughout the New Testament, we have a polemic happening at the same time that we see a miracle because it is a rebuking of the enemies lies and lies, the people, propagating it. But the key here is it's about truth and it's about defending truth. And so the polemic is a defense of the truth. So here we have God saying,

Are you he of whom I have spoken in former Days by my servants, the prophets of Israel prophesied for years, in those days that I would bring you against them. Or are you that person? I've been speaking of First 18 and it will come to pass at the same time when God comes against the land of Israel, says Lord, God that my Fury will show in my face. So there are several kinds of Fury. There's a quiet. There is a Kindle Fury where it gets you going and its internal and it's not going away. We like to see that in our favorite movie character, Heroes, you know, the ones who are wrong, and then they have this kindling Fury burning inside them, and they put together the long, long, long, long plan, new Jeremiah Johnson. Know, these people of the Wilderness, the old west individuals were wrong. Their family were killed. And what are they? Do, they go Rogue, they go wild and they go out there and they build Mountains, full of traps that can take down the entire Army and, you know, the Rambo situation. The men there is the other kind of Fury. It's the fury that every kid is afraid of afraid that they will see it on their mom's face. It is the fury that will show in the face. Not hidden, not quite it. Is there it is, ominous, it is certain there is probably death that the end of the tunnel and every kid knows about it or should every kid who is raised. First 19:4 in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath. I have spoken Shirley in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. So he's saying there's going to be an earthquake here. There is going to be something significant, something happens. Now that maybe something will go over and look at Matthew 24, where we have what some people call the signs of the coming of the age. And so I think they have misappropriated And tried to place prophetic items in the church age. And they say, when you see more frequent earthquakes, when you see Wars and signs of Wars, then, you know, we're almost to the end and it's kind of resonating and much of the culture of our church. It's been falsely taught now, but I'm not saying that we aren't at the End of the Age. I'm saying these prophetic utterances saying that the earthquakes and the wars and the pestilence and all of that, that is not actually a sign of what is to come in. The Rapture is about to happen. It means the Rapture already happen. That the tribulation period has happened in, these are signs that people are in the midst of the tribulation leading up to the final war and battle, and they need to be aware wake up. Be aware. You're saying, peace, peace, peace. But your enemies going to come in like a flood and try to just So, we'll take a look at that when we're in this passage. So, just a little preface, verse 20. So that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the Earth. Shall shake at my presents. God's presents. His involvement in the situation will be. So profound that every living bit of creation will shake, will quiver will be aware of what's happening in the mountains shall be thrown down the Steep places, shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. That's quite an obliteration. That is a massive moving in. This is God at work here, verse 21, I will call for a sword against dog. Threw out all my Mountain says the Lord. God, every man's sword will be against his brother know. The words is going to be instant chaos at this point. God puts out the call, there will be confusion in the ranks and everyone will turn against Everyone brother against brother, there will be outright Warfare. Every man living for himself verse 22 and I will bring him to judge me with pestilence and bloodshed. I will rain down on him on his troops and on the many people were with him. Flooding rain, great hailstones fire-and-brimstone. This is no simple you know like this is an intensive outpouring of natural disasters. Let's say super natural disasters, they are occurring in the natural realm but they were all super naturally driven. Amazing statement, verse 23, I will magnify myself and sanctify myself. And I will be known in the eyes of many missions, then they shall know that I Am Lord, what he says, I will magnify myself and sanctify myself sanctify. Hear the idea the concept behind the word is I will be set apart as like none other. That's what sanctify means means to be set apart to be different. That's what we're to be. As Christians, we are to be knowingly, visibly different, from others. People are to look at us go. Why are you dealing with what you're dealing with in the way that you're dealing with it? Or why is it that every time push comes to shove? You don't get show of what's going on, how come every time. There's an amazing disaster either. You walked out of it, you live through it or you're more productive on the other side of it and you have a joy before during and after what's with that. And that's just us being set apart. We are seeing is different than the idea of sanctification, which we like to put the focus on, getting the sin out of our lives. Really is not about getting the scent out of our Lives. As much of it is having the Vitality of God living in. And through us, the more promises, we have more of his word. We had the more of his Doctrine is stored away in our souls. The more we have capacity to be those spiritual vessels of God, to be used in the way that he wants.

Seven years to plunder in 7 months to bury dogs. Fallen Army. So this is Ezekiel 39 verses 1 through 16, 39, 1 through 16. So we come to the end of chapter 38, we're continuing with the next Oracle and chapter 39. So there really didn't need to be a chapter 39 place there, but someone did it could all be in the same chapter, because these are all the oracles. So, these two chapters were about 27 oracle's so, beginning inverse one then 39. And so, But she's me and you son of man. prophesy against Gog, you speaking to Ezekiel here, As the prophet son of man prophesy against Gog and say, the last says, the Lord God behold I am against you or God. Are you the prince of Rosh Michelle into ball. Supposed to be a prophecy that goes out. That's what we have in front of us, the written down prophecy, verse 2 and I will turn you around and lead you on. Bringing you up from the far north and bring you against the mountains of Israel. First three, then I will knock the bow out of your left hand and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand. I will take your weapons and disarm you. You'll be made useless verse for you shall fall upon the mountains of Israel. You're not even going to make it into Israel. Proper, you're going to get caught up in the mountain, you and all your troops. And the people who are with you, I will give you two birds of prey, every sort into the beasts of the field to be devoured, sounds familiar. First five, you shall fall on the open field for I have spoken. So the Lord verse six and I will send fire.

Find me dog in on those who live in Security in the coastlands, then they shall know that I am the Lord.

so, the entire lamb that's been left behind, there is going to be Fire those women Security on the coastlands. Now that might be one of the arguments against those who say they Gog and Magog is talking about the upper Northern Russian area because it's talking about Coastal and what we could say we have the Black Sea. So maybe the coastlands with the Black Sea. Are there? Some people who think the Gog and Magog, you're actually the lens.
