Invitation to Celebrate the Resurrection
Joh. 20
Am ersten Tag der Woche kommt Maria von Magdala
früh, als es noch finster war, zum Grab
und sieht, daß der Stein vom Grab weg war.
11Maria aber stand draußen vor dem Grab und weinte.
Als sie nun weinte, schaute sie in das Grab
12und sieht zwei Engel in weißen Gewändern sitzen,
einen zu Häupten und den andern zu den Füßen,
wo sie den Leichnam Jesu hingelegt hatten.
13Und die sprachen zu ihr:
Frau, was weinst du?
Sie spricht zu ihnen:
Sie haben meinen Herrn weggenommen,
und ich weiß nicht, wo sie ihn hingelegt haben.
14Und als sie das sagte,
wandte sie sich um und sieht Jesus stehen
und weiß nicht, daß es Jesus ist.
15Spricht Jesus zu ihr:
Frau, was weinst du? Wen suchst du?
Sie meint, es sei der Gärtner, und spricht zu ihm:
Herr, hast du ihn weggetragen,
so sage mir, wo du ihn hingelegt hast;
dann will ich ihn holen.
16Spricht Jesus zu ihr: Maria!
Da wandte sie sich um und spricht:
Rabbuni!
A family was watching the movie
"The Greatest Story Ever Told" on television.
One of the children in the family was deeply moved.
As Jesus journeyed to Calvary,
tears rolled down her cheeks.
She was absolutely silent
until after Jesus had been taken down from the cross
and put into the tomb.
Then she suddenly grinned and shouted:
"Now comes the GOOD part!"
During Holy Week
we heard about the suffering and death of Jesus.
As we journeyed with him
up that hill outside Jerusalem
towards the cross of Calvary,
we felt the agony and the pain
of the son of God hanging on the cross.
We heard his cry of loneliness,
“My God, my God,
Why have you forsaken me?”
We heard his cry of victory over our sin,
“It is finished!”
The lamb of God that bears the sins of the world.
We felt the anguish, even to restrain ourselves
And Not to wish each other a “Happy Easter”
On Good Friday.
And so,
Today we come to the Garden of the Resurrection,
And our hearts and our eyes
Are full of surprize!
… just like Mary… And Peter and John…
For us, who know the Story,
We can say “Now comes the good part!”
The tomb is empty!
Jesus is risen from the dead!
Christ ist auferstanden!
Christ has risen!
Cristo resusitó!
Kreestos Voskrés!
Jesus es opjistonen!
AN EASTER PRAYERLord Jesus, we greet You, risen from the dead, victorious over sin and death, over suffering and shame, over all evil and wrong. Herr Jesus, wir begrüßen dich, Den Auferstandenen von den Toten, Den der den Tod überwunden hat, Durch die Macht der Liebe Gottes. Der du geduldig gelitten und durchgehalten hast Durch den Glauben an Gott allein. Lord Jesus, we greet You, risen from the dead, to show us that nothing can separate us from God's love, you showed us how far your love will go for us, and for the sins of the world. Herr Jesus, wir begrüßen dich, Der du von den Toten auferstanden bist, Und wir opfern dir unsern Dank und unsere Anbetung, Unsere Hingabe und unseren dienst! Auferstandener Siegesheld, Wir begrüßen dich!Amen! *Oster Segen
*Durch deine Macht, Gott, hast du Jesu Kreuz zum Baum des Lebens verwandelt.
Durch Deine Macht, Gott verwandelst du unsere Angst in Zuversicht, unsere Lähmung in neuen Mut.
So wird unser Leben zu einem Gleichnis für die Auferstehung vom Tod zum Leben.Segne unseren Baum des Lebens, Damit das wintertote Holz in uns anfängt Knospen zu treiben und zu blühen.(Hanna Strack)Clarence Jordan said, “The crowning evidence that Jesus was alive Was not an empty grave, but a spirit-filled fellowship. Not a rolled-away stone, but a carried-away church.”It is not enough to celebrate Easter and say “Christ is risen”.It is useless to proclaim this Unless at the same time we can say That we have also risen, That we have received new life from God To live in victory. So, go out now as witnesses to testify that Christ has been raised and that we are raised with him.Set your minds on the things of God and do not be afraid.And may God raise you up from all that would hold you in the grave.And may the Holy Spirit empower you for all that is good.
