Fulfilled prophecies prove the Bible is trustworthy. Although you can find several religious books that contain prophecies, the Bible is the only book that contains prophecies that have been fulfilled 100%. The Bible is filled with hundreds of very specific and detailed prophecies, written many years before they were fulfilled. There are prophecies about the rise and fall of nations and even about the people of Israel returning back to their country, which is being fulfilled now. There are also several prophecies about Jesus that tell us when He would be born, which family He would be born into and when He would come. Fulfilled prophecies are some great evidence that proves the Bible can be trusted.
The Importance of Fulfilled Prophecy “We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” 2 Peter 1:19
Why do people attack the Bible?
Let’s look up Hebrews 4:12
Hebrews 4:12 NLT
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
This verse tells us that God’s Word is Alive and powerful and that it exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. This is one of the reasons why people try to attack the Bible and say that it is wrong or that it can’t be trusted. Because the Bible shows us what is wrong with our thoughts and actions, people reject it. They want to go on living their own sinful life and they don’t want to have to deal with their sinful nature. People don’t want to be told that what they are doing is wrong. And that is exactly what the Bible does, it exposes sin in our lives. Not only do we need to be ready to share the truth from God’s Word with others, we need to be able to defend God’s word with the truth.
Isaiah 46:3–4 NKJV
3 “Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, Who have been upheld by Me from birth, Who have been carried from the womb: 4 Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.

Isaiah 46:6–7 NKJV
6 They lavish gold out of the bag, And weigh silver on the scales; They hire a goldsmith, and he makes it a god; They prostrate themselves, yes, they worship. 7 They bear it on the shoulder, they carry it And set it in its place, and it stands; From its place it shall not move. Though one cries out to it, yet it cannot answer Nor save him out of his trouble.
Isaiah 46:8 NKJV
8 “Remember this, and show yourselves men; Recall to mind, O you transgressors.
God is saying, don’t forget this, and keep it in mind.

4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. 6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” 26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” 27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
CONCLUSION
READ 2 Tim 3.1-16
2 Timothy 3:14–16 (NLT)
14 But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. 15 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
