Billionaire Warren Buffett is considered one of the most successful investors of our time. He recently surprised reporters when asked to describe the best advice he ever received. Rather than focus on ways of making money, Buffett said his father taught him the best way to live. He encouraged parents saying they have the opportunity to make a “better human being.”

The billionaire said, “there is no power on earth like unconditional love. And I think that if you offered that to your child. I mean, you’re 90 percent of the way home. There may be days when you don’t feel like it – it’s not uncritical love; that’s a different animal – but to know you can always come back, that is huge in life. That takes you a long, long way. And I would say that every parent out there that can extend that to their child at an early age, it’s going to make for a better human being.”

Unconditional Love is the type of love our Heavenly Father extends to all. One of the best examples is found in Jesus’ parable of the wayward son.

Luke 15:21-24 (CEV) “The son said, ‘Father, I have sinned against God in heaven and against you. I am no longer good enough to be called your son.’ (22) But his father said to the servants, ‘Hurry and bring the best clothes and put them on him. Give him a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. (23) Get the best calf and prepare it, so we can eat and celebrate. (24) This son of mine was dead, but has now come back to life. He was lost and has now been found.’ And they began to celebrate. “
